Ridiculous quotes to be giving at this stage of the season www.bluewin.ch/de/sport/fussball/unzufriedener-shaqiri-bemaengelt-qualitaet-der-mannschaft-82936.htmlDissatisfied Shaqiri criticizes quality of the team
Xherdan Shaqiri is dissatisfied with Stoke City because there are not enough good players at his side. The national team had last to pass on the injured Xherdan Shaqiri, as he recovered from a calf injury. Now his focus is on the relegation battle with Stoke City. But he no longer sees any prospects for himself at the English club.
"The feeling that even a Ronaldinho could do little in this team is sobering," he describes the current situation with Stoke City in an interview with the "Schweizer Illustrierte".
"And I had to realize that it's a bit different when you have players like Ribéry and Thiago at Bayern or Icardi and Kovacic at Inter. Here at Stoke I can not exert too much influence, simply because there is a lack of quality around me. "Hard words. Does that mean farewell? His contract runs until 2020. It would have to change a lot, so Shaqiri. "I can not just throw the spoon. But it would have to be brutal for Stoke in the transfer market this summer to revive my enthusiasm. " He is aware that the team needs him in a relegation battle, so he is now giving the best for the club and for himself to talk to a new club.

At least he’s not thrown in the spoon. True - we should be grateful for small mercies. Most of the rest of 'em have thrown the whole bloody cutlery drawer. Obviously every word he says is true, but why say it? We all know he'll be off in 3 months anyway

I've never warmed to Shaqiri in the way I did to Arnie. I think Arnie liked it here but was ambitious for something else, more money or whatever. I always felt Shaqiri was here because there was nowhere else for him to go.
It's not the best timing to be chucking a spanner (or even a spoon) into the works, but it's not the shock or disappointment to me that Arnie's comments were.

Has he been a world beater since his time at Stoke? Well no but he has been head and shoulders above the rest along with Allen.
Regardless of the money he earns it must be frustrating as hell when you have the likes of Butland and Shawcross aimlessly lumping it up to your head or when you finally do get the ball, you look around and see the likes of Fletcher, Cameron, Crouch, Diouf, Berahino and so on. All of which make zero attempt to actually create themselves any space and give him an outlet. Add to the fact they're just not that good at this level.
Over the last few years i dont think i have seen a team so static in possesion at most levels, when we counter you see the central midfield walking up the field alongside the defence half the time, which means players like Shaqiri then have to either play an aimless ball to a static Crouch or turn back and play backwards which kills the counter.

Fuck me when you really sit back and see the shower of shit that turns up each week and see how we've been ran from top to bottom for over 18 months, its a depressing thought.
It's going to take some drastic reworking in summer whether we stay or up not as i wouldnt fancy this lot minus Butland, Allen and Shaqiri getting close the the playoffs.

When you look at the players that are expected to leave and look at what's left, I can't see anything but a very tough struggle for the next two or three years. Then after that, who knows. Amazing in football how if you take your eye off the ball for a short while, everything turns to utter shit very quickly.

Complacency has kicked us in the arse and we will pay for it. Doesn't help that we've decided the cheap approach of giving extended contracts to players past their best instead of replacing them. Next season with Johnson, Cameron, Adam, Crouch and co... be like a re run of Dads Army.

While I sympathise with Shaqiri to some extent, I honestly think if we had lost him and kept Arnie we would have stayed up.
We managed some great performances with Arnie, Walters, Whelan, Adam, Crouch and Diouf in the side, didn't we? Shaqiri has stepped up a lot this season, but he's still very hit and miss for me. He's been a part of the problem at times, not just the victim of a bad side.

At least he’s not thrown in the spoon. Have you looked at the pitch after games? He throws many spoons every game the whole season. He may be our topscorer but his poor attitude has helped us be in the position we're in.

I reckon Ribéry and Thiago at Bayern or Icardi and Kovacic at Inter would be saying the same thing if he was in their side. He might be good (occasionally) in a Stoke shirt, but I'd prefer Johnny Malkin to him any day. We don't need this shit right now, so fuck off Shaq! At least Micky Pejic will be pleased to see him go. OS.

His attitude stinks. He's the best player and if the squad take their cue from him, its no wonder we're fucked. He hasnt wanted to be here since he arrived, he's been eying a move but hasnt performed well enough.
To say this at this stage of the season is incredibly unprofessional. People say he's too good for us, but he isnt. He has the talent, but 1 good game in 10 isnt good enough. He's as complicit in our relegation as anyone

Another signal of the disintegration , be very surprised if we win again this season , total implosion fuelled by complete ineptitude in front of our very eyes . As stated at the Time last summer window was this century’s equivalent of the butler street stand roof , the catalyst for all ineptitude that preceded it to take a vicious toll over a sustained period of rapid decline
Scholes , lambert and co stop it now even if they knew how , it’s time to adopt the brace position , kiss the premier league and all ambition good bye and see if at the end of the crash we are in the championship or division one .

Shaqiri. The sort of wanker who blames his team mates for not getting their heads on a corner he kicked 20ft in the air.
His flapping about at them to exonerate himself of any blame over the last few weeks has been embarrassing.
