Why the hell are Argentina playing Italy in Manchester in a friendly
Is Manchester Argentina's or Italy's new home ground?
Who are these games for?
Wouldn't people in Argentina like to see Messi and Aguero for a change?

It'll be interesting to see ticket pricing for this. Might get along to see my beloved Azurri if pricing is affordable! Not seen them since the 0-0 draw with Germany at Old Trafford, during the Euro 96 tournament.

Did I read somewhere that the Argentina were using man city training facilities prior to going to Russia. This might be a part of the deal.

Shame England are playing the same night, otherwise I would've liked to have gone along - My Falklands Tour '82 t-shirt hasn't been out in a while.

Poor millionaire players having to travel a bit. It's fairly crap that national teams are not playing in their own countries and giving fans the opportunity to see them especially considering the appetite for football in Argentina. Neutrals are not really going to create much of an atmosphere.

Does every aspect of football have to relate to the money they get?

In the last year the national team has played 3 times in Argentina against Venezuela, Chile and Peru in Qualifying games Their friendlies inc against Brazil have all been played in Europe Yes, there is alot of domestic football but have you seen the standard. None of their national team players are there.

The competitive games are the ones that matter and they're still played in Argentina. They'll hopefully get the world cup heading over there for the centennial as well.

True, their fans are incredible, that's why I thought they might appreciate the opportunity to get to see their genius Messi from time to time. If we had players like him I'd be a bit annoyed if we were playing our friendlies against teams like Italy in Buenos Aires.

Not a big deal.

So I can go and see Messi play live perhaps?
Most South Americans are based in Europe which I think is the real reason .
If they had to travel home I'm sure lots of niggling injuries would cause withdrawals from the squad.

Same as the idea of Premier League games in Asia.
