Let's hope so but it's a shame clubs actually use the figures if season ticket holders turn up or not.
Look at Arsenal lately when less than half full they still put up the attendance as 59,000+ when it's actually 30,000!

It's odd that 'attendance' no longer means the number of people who attended isn't it? Perhaps we need a new word, it's really become an accounting measure.

It's funny how we keep setting the record against Everton. I would guess that this record will last as long as the last one.

Guessing they've given out a lot of freebies then. Don’t think so, there’s been a waiting list for more than single seats for 3 weeks....

I wonder how many empty seats there will be? Officially 30k, realistically 28k

How can they tell us what the attendance will be the day before the match? Ticket sales ...numb nut I've got a ticket for tomorrow and I won't be going and someone else has already stated such on this very thread. So I'll repeat the question... How can they tell us what the attendance is going to be the day before the match?

How can they tell us what the attendance is going to be the day before the match? Because like every other Premier League team it goes on tickets sold.....

For quite a while really. Inaccurately Goes right back to the old Vic. Any regular stokie could look around the Vic and guess attendance within 500. The stated attendance was quite often complete bollocks GD They count people who've paid but don't turn up. At the Vic, they appeared to ignore the odd thousand or six that were actually there. Remember the loud laughter around the ground when they announced a gate of 14,000 over the tannoy for that Boxing Day fixture v Newcastle?

At what point did they stop announcing the attendance over the tannoy? They probably still do. The tannoy's so shit you'd never know.

I've got a ticket for tomorrow and I won't be going and someone else has already stated such on this very thread. So I'll repeat the question... How can they tell us what the attendance is going to be the day before the match? They don't give the attendance anymore it is simply tickets sold as illustrated by the recent Arsenal games. When West Ham have to play behind closed doors the "attendance" will be 56,000!!
