Andy dunn of the mirror was saying, because of west ham's contract to rent a massive great stadium in the middle of london, at a peppercorn rent, the clubs value has sky rocketted compared to what it was at upton park.
So if the fans suceed in forcing the owners out. Then They will have to sell, for a massive great profit.
Oh, the irony!

Serious question. What specifically about the board are the fans protesting?

Serious question. What about the board are the fans protesting? In essence, They are quite happy meeting their mates at the same old pub and going to upton park thank you They do not what to have wonder around some soul less shopping centre to gain access to some massive great stadium, that is an epic bit of engineering, but is clearly not a football ground Just so the owners can add millions to the value of west ham plc, while pissing all their fans off

I don't see what would piss them off so much that they would act violently. This isn't the Venkys at Blackburn.

I know it sounds a bit like west ham fans want to live in the olden days
But upton park was in west ham and you could meet your mates at the pub, chippy, pie n mash place etc
The london stadium is effectively designed into westfield shopping centre in stratford and you have to go past build a bear, disney store, costa coffee etc to gain access to the ground
Maybe, the inter city firm dont want to meet at build a bear before the game??,

I am not saying west ham fans should invade the pitch
But the scenes at west ham do raise the question, should the board, run a club on a purely commercial basis, and just ignore what the fans want?

Nowt really is it.

I don’t blame them to be honest. It’s going to happen when supporters are pushed to their limit. Football clubs mean the earth to people and if people come in and threaten that some people are inevitably going to react angrily. It happened with us, it’s happening with Wast Ham, it will happen with other clubs in the future. I think all these negative comments in the media from players, ex-players, pundits etc towards protesting fans show the gap that exists between the fan-base and what can now be termed the establishment. The players and pundits are so highly paid they have forgotten what it is to be a fan who pays out hard earned money every week and wants to feel that are part of a community by being valued by their clubs. Fans need to have an outlet for their feelings and sense of grievance and protest is an important part of it and that includes pitch invasions if need be. That's how change happens.

The focus seems to on a threat to players and terrified kids because of rioting fans. None of that is correct from what I saw. We've been there and done all That, albeit at a much lower level with far less coverage. Our behaviour in the Birmingham game was far worse than that of west ham supporters yesterday.

"Analysis - 'It was a toxic scene'
BBC Sport commentator John Motson
It was the most scary moment I've had at a football ground. I'd even go back to those days when Luton and Millwall had that riot back in 1985. "

Where's he been all the years?

BBC This from Dec 2016 £43,350 was charged for Special Policing Services for West Ham vs Stoke on 5th November 2016. Clubs are liable for charges for policing inside the stadiums or on their land. However, under the deal done between the LLDC and West Ham during Boris Johnson’s time at City Hall there is no provision for West Ham to meet the costs of policing. An estimated £426,170 has been spent on deploying officers to policing operations around West Ham since 4th August, according to figures from the Mayor of London. After just 6 home games, costs have almost already hit the total amount spent on policing West Ham games at Upton Park last season (2015/16), which reached £525,526. The cost is picked up by the Met, with no legal right to recover costs to the Met for policing incidents outside the ground and dealing with travelling supporters.

I wonder what will happen if, as seems possible, Boris gets more seriously investigated for his role in the missing millions for the garden bridge project that never got built (46m!). I'm sure there would be pressure to look at his role in the Olympic stadium fiasco too - could make life uncomfortable for the dildo boys I doubt he's bent, but he makes a complete arse of every role he's had (including his embarrassing stints on TV). We go on about the endless gravy train of managers getting new roles after failure but how this pompous latin-spouting relic of the 19th century has risen to the top echelons of government is frankly gob-smacking

Are they going get points deducted then?? If they get points deducted for that I’ll be amazed. A couple of knob heads running on the pitch, a couple of dozen fat bastards dancing in front of the owners & no-one injured. Barely warrants airtime. If it had been at Stoke, Southampton or Swansea it wouldn’t have made the news.

Other costs covered by the taxpayer are , goalposts, cleaners, turnstile operators, heating and lighting costs and remember Boris Johnson fought tooth and nail to prevent this being made public and even spent public money trying to stop it!!! and if they are relegated their rent will be halved and therefore further subsidised by the taxpayer remember also that £272m was spent just to convert the stadium for Premiership Football the good news is if they win the Champions League they will contribute £1m towards the running costs (Champions League Winners Revenue is usually £80-90m) it really is beyond a scandal!

Deal of the Century!
