As much as I hate them as well Dave surely that must be weather related? There was 17,647 at their game with Derby last Saturday of which 2,850 were Derby fans.To lose 7,000 fans from one fixture to the next seems pretty extreme especially after an entertaining 3-3 draw

Dreariest game I ever went to was at elm park. That ground was a right dive. But I kind of have a soft spot for reading. Not because of football but because of some of the festival line up's I saw there in the 90's. Got to be weather related though surely. 6k is a shocker.

Jaap Stam seems resigned to the sack:
On his future in the job: "I don't feel pressure myself as everyone knows what can happen in football.
"If the club wants to make a decision then they can do that. Everyone knows if you're having a bad spell and not winning games, a decision can be made.
"That's not up to me, it's how it goes in football. I wouldn't be surprised if that decision comes."

Pulp and stroke sounds rude, and what was Jane's addiction, is Dandy gay and at least White Stripes suggests they're Stoke fans!

I have a serious dislike of Reading going back to our time with them in the third tier. Alan Mardew when he was in full swing.
Horrible, plastic club. In line with Wigan.

Imagine my excitement when I looked at the title of the thread and opened it expecting to read an article on adult literacy! I feel cheated.

All on on a friday in 1991. Obviously its all down to personal choice and memories mate but for me that was the best one. I was there in 2002 as well. Last time i was at reading i think.

Another soft spot for Reading here. First away game with the lad......safe away ground, no scum you weren't in the back of a mini van near Elm Park getting the doors kicked in then ? I was living down that way in the 90's, went a few times, was at the night match when we had 2 sent off and lost 4-0, then the trains went on strike and cost me £40 in a taxi to get back home Definetly weather related, same as Swansea's crowd v Sheff Wed.

I was there in '92 & '93 - Public Enemy, Butthole Surfers, Jesus Lizard & New Order spring to mind, Obvs Nirvana famous headline set but early Radiohead & PJ Harvey sets too... It was the best festival in those days, no contest.

Living 5 miles from the Reading Ground, I would suggest it was weather related to some extent. It was Minus 5c at 18:30 last night. Cold for southern softies. By 22:45 when driving home the temperature had crept down to Minus 7c.
It is likely that Stam will go by the end of the season and to be honest some of the football they have played this season has been dire.
7000 fewer fans after a decent performance against Derby was a surprise
