As butland was just scoring the own goal and I was cursing while my stream buffered there was a knock on my front door. My daughter shouted me and informed me it was the police I went down spoke to them and was in formed my 88 year old grandad had passed away by his house. I’ve spent the rest of the day sorting out what I’ve needed and just come on here to have a break. I’d just like to say no matter what happens now this season it’s not the worst thing that’s going to happen to me so what will be will be and stay up or go down I couldn’t really be arsed. He was a stokie all his life and saw lots of ups and downs for us and one more wouldn’t make a difference in the long run. Anyway VIS UNITA FORTIOR

Just lost Dad so I know what you mean. That's both Mums and both Dads in 2 years of hell for us. They all made their 80s so all had a long life.
Can't help thinking they are all together somewhere as they all grew up together and grew old together also.

Lost my dad last month and it is true other things in life dare I say it, like the club you support, drop way back in importance. I don’t want us to go down, far from it, but like the OP says it won’t be the worst thing to happen to me this year.....

While on the subject of fellow Stokies, there is just something I have wanted to say for years. Having met fans from 107 clubs [some non leauge] I have to say that Stokies are the best, especially with what we have to put up with. We all have different opinions on everything connected to Stoke City, but in my view, YOU ARE BEST.

You're right, a little perspective is needed sometimes on here. All the best to you and your family.

As your Grandfather was a Stokie, I thought I'd throw this in. It's ment with the greatest of respect. Just substitute the name Nellie with Grandad:-
