The officer suffered a cardiac arrest tonight it seems during one of these choreographed pre-match riots which I understand are 'de rigueur' on the continent these days when the Russians are involved. Riot leaves police officer deadAwful news.

Will anyone really take on these unreconstructed thick heads in their own back yard this summer? You'd have to have some kind of death wish (NOTE: I am not talking to myself here, Gods and Godo are 2 different people!)

R.I.P I’m glad I’m staying clear of Russia in the summer, it’s going to be a bloodbath and fans will be killed

RIP to the officer
6 years ago today since we played Valencia away, many innocent Stoke fans were on the receiving end of the police batons that night

Bilbao is the Spanish equivalent of Belfast..being an area formerly dominated by Basque (ETA) Separatists. Not an area to mess about in.
The Russians involved would be the same people involved in Marseilles.
God help anyone going to Russia for the World Cup

- when you see this clip its pretty wild they wont do it at home when Russia is on the world stage as they will get sent to Siberia but it seems that its acceptable away as it was in the Euros .

In the middle of it all going off, you see a dad walking his young lad across the zebra crossing as if he'd get arrested for jay walking if he went across further up the road out of the way.

God help anyone going to Russia for the World Cup Been to Bilbao and it is a great City, there would maybe be a political element to this trouble though , The Russians are notoriously right wing and the Basques anything but ,I found it a really open tolerant City but they wouldnt take to a bunch of people with those views coming mob handed Im sure

Why is a heart attack described as killed? I pondered that myself. I suppose the point is that were he not through his work called upon to handle the unlawful disturbances he would be waking up this morning with his family, so in that sense someone 'dunnit'.

The Russian government supposedly plays a big role in orchestrating these events and actively recruit nationalists to get involved. Anyone else see that documentary? Got to wonder what the motivation is.

Got to wonder what the motivation is. With a President having a secret service/intelligence background, and dubious human rights record, I think the Russian authorities could close it all down in a month if they wanted.

You'd have reasonable grounds to suspect that there will be as much or as little trouble at the World Cup as Vlad the Impaler desires?.....
