I'd also like 2 see Higgy back but i think it wud take some superb performances from him 2 win over a section of the fans......just look at the stick Griff gets when he has a bad game! And this after every1 loved him when he 1st came on loan b4 runnin off 2 Derby!!!
I remember seein him on MOTD when he 1st signed 4 Sunderland & he did look out of his depth tho! I'm sure TP wud get the best out of him tho if he does return!

Is it his form or has he just gone shit? This season may well make or break Griff-lets hope it makes him.

i dont want him back, i dont think he is better than what we have got at the moment Shawcross Cort Wilko Buxton Shotton are the centre backs we have and Higgi is better than all of them. Shawcross will become a better player in time but currently Higgi is better than all of them.

The irony is that the money we got for Higgy from Sunderland went a long way towards bankrolling our promotion - TP has said as much in interviews.
Reminiscent of what happened last time we were promoted re the sales of Kav and Thorney.
If he comes back and he's good enough then great! I trust TP's judgement on this one.

bayern....personally i can't see Griff beein up to it this season he looked out of his depth at Derby & i agree he was poor when he returned 2 us but i also feel a lot of the stick he gets is to do wiv him goin 2 Derby over us in the 1st place!
Is it just me or does Griff look over-weight in the New Kit ads?

I don't think Griff will do the business either but we have to give him a chance. And personally he pisses me off because he plays so badly but doesn't get dropped. That's what annoys me.

I'd have him back, better than what we have.
There's no sentiment left in the game of football. Players don't "love" clubs anymore, money and success talks- nout else.
If Dicko was offered bigger money at a football club, he'd go- some fans think he's Stoke through and through but he'd fuck off.
I support Stoke City, S.C.F.C will be with me forever, not the individuals who come and go, if a lad comes back to the club and has a good chance of improving it on the pitch, get him in.

There are good eggs and bad eggs, but none of them could really give a toss about Stoke City FC. It's just a way of paying their bills and progressing their careers We've just got to selfishly get the best 11 mercenaries we can on the pitch

I want him back and never begrudged his departure in the first place. He's not going to turn down substantially higher wages each week and neither would anyone 1 person on here.

i don't see what the problem is. He wanted premiership football. He is knocking on 30 so had to take that chance. We got 3million + for him and as a result we went up! whats the problem??

I'm starting to change my mind about this. If, and it's a big if, he's got the balls to keep his head down and know he'll get a bad time to begin with then yes. Griff so far is the worst example of don't go back, Tone's the best. And Coatesy I suppose too.

He's not good enough for this league and yet many of us agree he is better than what we already have. Sort of shows the magnitude of the task ahead really.

FFS.
Who gives a fuck what his personality is like?
If he does a job then we should have him.
The PHW's can accept it about Pulis, so let's accept it about Higgy.
He left for more money, rightly so for him, and we made a profit. He was immense for us, so why not have him back?!

Couldn't wait another season to get to the Prem, he wanted instant success so he buggered off...........

He did indeed make his bed - a super duper king size bed, apposed to his camping mat at Stoke. How can you slate the guy for taking a HUGE pay increase?!

personally I strongly doubt that his injury was fabricated as so many Stokies seem to beleive.
however even if it was TP/Stoke have never alluded to it & presumably dont have an issue with Higgy.
Cort,Higgy,Gardner & Shawcross - with Wilko as well who can also play there would make a strong CB line up.
tbh I wouldnt be adverse to playing Higgy @ LB either.

Good point lordb, he's more of a genuine utility defender than anyone else Tone's tried to use in that role.

lordb, I was thinking exactly the same thing and move him in the middle if/when Gardner gets injured...

Higgi is half the player at left back than he is at centre back.

You can't blame him for leaving for the money and the chance to play in the Premiership, you can blame him for the way he went about getting the move - as club captain, he should have gone to Pulis privately rather than crying like a 12 year old at a Busted concert in the press when we truned down Sunderland's first bid.

Higgi is half the player at left back than he is at centre back. I agree, would be a crime to put him at left back.
