At the risk of sounding like another whinger, what the f*** am I seeing on Instagram over this last week!!!!? Yes for my sins I do follow a few of our players on Instagram and for those not in the know as a user you can post stories which show your "followers" what you are up to at any given time. For the last week a select few of our current undeperformers have appeared to be on an a jolly tour of Europe!! What the f*** is going on!??? Wimper has ran off to Austria for the past week, choupo has been sauntering around Germany and this morning looks to be at some alpine ski retreat, (went for a run with his wife though..don't bust too much of a gut kid) zouma peed off immediately after our last game on a plane somewhere and has at least had the decency to not post updates of his lavish holiday lifestyle, Ramadan also cleared off appears to be back now though. Last time I checked we were in a relegation battle. We embarrassingly crashed out of the FA cup and in the two week between our next game we should be using at least 12 of those days to slog our guts out on training field, everyone together grafting to get out of this horrific situation we've found ourselves in. Take a day off a week, in 12 days you shed fat, get fitness levels up to a moderately acceptable level and communicate to some of the utter retards that play for our club, the seriousness of our situation. Instead it seems a few of the lads have been rewarded for crashing out of the FA cup to a team three leagues below. Wimmer is all that is wrong with modern days footballers, Spurs may as well have taken a shit in our centre circle and then charged us £18m for the pleasure. I don't want to see a picture of him having his haircut somewhere in Vienna when he should be on a treadmill at Clayton wood. It took blood, sweat and tears to get to the Prem, it took pottermouth and it took us all staying for 96 minutes a game to squeeze every last bit of energy out of our players to get them over the line. It took pulisball, binary seasons and trips to horrible stadiums to get us up and help us stay there and it's heartbreaking to see the unpolished turds that wear those red and white stripes throwing it all away and doing it whilst seemingly non plussed. There's clearly a deeper issue than us just being rubbish on a match day and unfortunately until we sack a few players and dock a few wages I can't see it changing (Moral of the story...stay off Instagram oatcakers!)

They had Monday and Tuesday off but were back in training later in the week.
Assume they've got the weekend off (or maybe just today) and will have a normal week of training next week.
It's all well and good saying they should be training every day but there really is no point in completely wearing them out.

Fuck me they’re still humans, people who think footballers live and breathe the clubs they play for and live in tents outside the training ground are very naive.
If you worked for a company that was on its way down the shitter, would you still take your paid holidays? Of course you would, this is no different.
I’d rather them come back relaxed after a quick holiday than absolutely murder them with training every day.

The only advice I can give is, if you’re easily offended it’s probably not a good idea to follow highly paid, pampered and in some cases mercenary footballers on Instagram.
For your own sanity just click unfollow (if that’s a thing) and worry about something else, like Brexit or global warming......

You are joking!? If I made a monumental cock up at work which could cost my employer millions and lost me the respect of everyone supporting me I'd be working round the clock to sort it out whilst there's still time!! I wouldn't be lying in a bed in the Alps!?!?? Maybe we differ here?
Maybe we've all (fans included) given up all ready

Rest is an important part of an athlete's training schedule.

They are professional footballers that frankly don't give a toss about the club. They are here whilst we pay their money and the moment we can't or don't want to then they move on to someone else that will.
Of course they've gone on holiday. They have the money and they have the time. We'd all do the same.
I hope they all enjoy their breaks because the heat returns next Saturday in Leicester, and boy is it getting hotter.

Seriously, if you genuinely have that attitude you will go far. 90% of employees would be spending their time looking for a new job or complaining about how bad the situation is for them personally and how the crappy company should have done x,y, or z.

I know a guy who was employed by farmers to cry wolf, if one tried to eat their sheep. As the story goes he stuffed up and the wolf ended up eating the sheep. The farmers then wanted to sack him but fortunately he went to HR and they suggested he go on holiday and let the issue settle down. Being oblivious to his mistake he now cries poor.

Perhaps the manager said "right you've got a few days off ... go away, clear your heads ... come back focussed and ready to go again; the pressure will only get worse from here to the end of the season so try to relax". And then he turned to his back room staff and said "I want a list of everyone who is in the gym or outside doing drills ... or fingers crossed practicing penalties ... over the next few days. Sod what I told them all, whoever sticks around and puts the work in, is first on the team sheet vs Leicester".

If they are to go on holiday whilst the ship is rapidly sinking the least they can do is to brag about it to show the whole bloody world that they don't give a shit about Stoke City FC and its supporters
Choupo is by far the worst one of the lot and the earlier we see the back of him for good the better
Lazy piece of shit

I have to agree with the OP to an extent. Social media is a hive of narcy cunts, only amplified if you're a footballer with the world blowing smoke up your arse.
They should have some respect for the club and us as supporters. Rewarding yourself for 2 years of failure and displaying it for the world to see does stink. But then don't surround yourself in it. Never been on Instagram, never will. The level of self serving in this world is repulsive.

Agree with both sides of this argument to some extent, but ultimately its a bit classless and Ill-advised for players to be posting themselves on luxury holidays when to us their minds should be 100% on fighting their way out of relegation. May well be that they've had a hard week of training but the problem is that people like Choupo don't Instagram that part. I can only hope if he is happy to bugger off for a few days, then he feels it's justified and he's ready for the fight

At the end of the day they are humans. The gist i get is people are saying this: Employee is given time off work, however the company he works for is not in great shape. He goes on holiday with that time off, but because his company is struggling he shouldn't enjoy this time off and document it on social media, as he also does not document the hard work when he is back working. (for the record I and many other people would be sacked if they put aspects of there work on social media). Surely as any of you would do given time off work, he should enjoy it if he is allowed and should be allowed to post this in is free time. Im sure you guys post about work during your time off? Like I said they are still humans and are allowed to enjoy there life outside of work. Just because we as fans see just what happens in 90 minutes doesn't mean there employees are unhappy with the effort and commitment, and the problem with sport is there is always a loser.

I wonder if, during our promotion season, or any of the seasons since, any of our players spent a few days of their personal time doing something other than Stoke City stuff. I bet they didn't. I bet they all lived in a massive red and white house in Trentham and when they weren't training, they watched videos of the '72 cup final.
Get a fucking grip.

It doesn't matter. Footballers can't be worked hard every minute of the day, they need rest.

Whilst it is annoying that they're able to holiday when they've churned out the shite that they have this season, as you say, if it relaxes and rejuvenates them then it's a bonus for SCFC.
