After impressing the owners with his knowledge of the squad knowing our strengths and weaknesses in the job interview HE CLEARLY LIED as picking Fletcher Proves just that.

To go 4-2-4 (which is what is looked like to me) after half time showed some balls and intent to the desire get something from the game. And we did get something and almost all, which probably would have been unfair on our opponents. The first half was atrocious.
I hear what everyone is saying about Fletcher - I think he was working on the theory he needed a rest. He now knows the theory is that he simply shouldn't start.
I think he's trying, but he's trying with a rabble of a squad. It's nigh impossible to pick a quality starting 11.....
If he somehow pulls this out the bag he deserves an awful lot of credit.
6 (one point is better than none and chased the game)

2* starting Fletcher ridiculous, bring Adam on ridiculous should have been Cameron or Ramadan (no idea why he’s not being used)
Also already tired of his “we are a great team we will win games” post match interview mantra - Paul we are running out of games mate
Also fed up with the lack of actual penetrating football and the return to a Hughes pass back pass square for thirty minutes going no where style. Suppose that’s due to Crouch being injured as we just hoof it up field then.
Last three games have shown me he’s out of his depth and his tactics prehistoric

Lambert as not been successful in the Prem so why would anyone believe this would change with the current squad and why would anyone believe he could achieve success at a club that is currently running a self suffiency plan.
Only the cretins in charge could believe this was possible

To see us struggling against Brighton, breaks my heart! Fletcher and Adam too slow! When will we learn?

1* for not losing the game.
Question Time .....
Has Lambo caught Ireland & Afellay shagging his wife or are they injured ?
And how the fuck can Fletcher get in the side, and they can’t even make the bench ?

6*
Would of been more put started fletcher.
Made subs when he needed, but the wrong subs.
Adam and Berahino should of been no where near that 11.
But you can't blame lambert for the players not putting the effort in.

And how the fuck can Fletcher get in the side, and they can’t even make the bench ? Not fit to play for 90 mins. Lambert got them all in 6 days a week. Hughes did not coach he was a figure head. We are in a mess more than some realize. May I suggest that Fletcher isn’t fit to play 90 mins. After his Watford non- performance, he shouldn’t be anywhere near the first team....I admire your support of Lambert, but he’s no better than Hughes. 8 out of 10 for yesterday’s match ? Are you sure ? Really ? 😲

First half set up woeful....everything through the middle when you have Ramadan on the bench. Brighton looked comfortable to just sit there, let stoke flounder on their defensive wall, then hit us on the break, which they did with great effect. It was obvious after 15 minutes it wasn't working so why not change it then. WTF choupo and diouf were doing I can only wonder. Better second half, but ultimately stoke do not have enough to stay up. Brighton looked in a different league and I'm guessing soon will be.

If ignoring Ireland is to do with what happened a Villa, then PL needs fucking off,Stoke City come way ahead of his Villa issues with Ireland .

5* The selection of Fletcher over Cameron made no sense at all. A positive was that in the second half Badou did a decent job as the defensive midfielder - I noticed how disciplined he was in dropping back whenever Ryan made a run forward. I'm not even certain we needed a midfield 3 against Brighton who had scored only 6 goals away from home all season before yesterday. Fletcher was so poor that Allen and Badou rarely got far enough forward to help in the attacks. We looked far better with Badou and Allen as a midfield 2 in the second half. I do wish he had chosen Campbell on the bench ahead of Berahino. Put it this way - if Berahino had played as many games for the U23's as Campbell has this season would Berhino have scored 14 goals so far? I don't think so! I also think Ramadan could have provided some impetus in the second half - he's been hit and miss this season but on his good days he makes a difference to our tempo. Finally - and Lambert is not alone in this - any manager who sends a team out without setting out clear rules as to the pecking order for who takes the penalties in various circumstances, really brings a fiasco like yesterday's upon himself. EDIT: Another finally - What was wrong with our new Greek full back? Pieters really did my head in yesterday with his constant passing back. I bet Pieters to Zouma was the most common pass yesterday by a country mile. I haven't given up on Lambo - but I hope he is a quick learner.

Whatever happened today the blame for the performance the blame lies squarely at the feet of Lambert. I was absolutely blown away by his choice of starting eleven. Nearly every fan in the stadium new the best midfield yet he chose to recall Fletcher?????. He was just as culpable in not including Jese and Berahino instead of Diouf and Choupo. The first half performance was the worst I have seen against another very poor team who out performed us. The substitution of Ndiaye for Charlie put the top hat on it I thought until we had the penalty fiasco. For me it was so deflating and infuriating. I am most probably reisigned to us now being relegated but I have to remember that there are still teams as poor as us around the relegation area and miracles can happen. The outstanding thing that I have learned in these last four games is Lambert was the wrong choice!
