Just an observation but on my travels the roadsides from Kidsgrove to most of Cheshire and back are littered with molehills. Have they thawed out?.

The little bastards are everywhere. Had to get the mole man out a few years back when they took a shine to the lawn.

Leave the poor buggers alone. No one ever sees them so what's the problem?! Better than rats surely?

A lot of mole hills are little piles of soil put there by mole catchers trying to drum up business. They used to get paid per mole. They would tie them up to the fence, to show how many they had caught.

Michael Bentine would sort them out. Had em in my back garden a few years ago. Little bleeders!

I had a few molehills appear in the garden of one of my previous houses a few years ago. So I bought 3 of the solar mole repellers and stuck them in the molehills about 10 yards apart.
Next day a few more molehills appeared in another area of the lawn. So I moved the repellers there and the moles dug fresh ones near to the original molehills.
This went on for about a week but I couldn't get rid so in the end I called in a mole catcher and within a day he'd caught the little blighter. No more moles after that.

I've got stone sets in the back yard and one of these little buggers has been underneath causing them to sink at random intervals. The cat caught him fortunately

Does anyone remember Bentine hitting them with a mallet in what appeared to be a sandbox of sorts. Must have been in the fifties. I thought he was about as funny as a dose of the crabs!
