Looking forward to this
Love how the teaser trailer shows the Imperial recruitment guy as quite a regular, friendly sort of fella - its a nice touch and different from the usual clichés

I'm confused on the time period this is meant to be as he is in his late 20s in real life (the actor) and the ship is shown to be pristine looking whereas by the time ANH arrives it's seen it's fair share of wear. He also doesn't seem as sarcastic / jokey in this as he does in ANH. trentvale68

I believe its set 15 years before the 1977 movie - leaves plenty of scope for any sequel IF it does well
Possible Boba Fett appearance too..

Seen it tonight, much better than expected. Very impressive visually (if only the prequels had looked this good) some great set pieces and the casting came off well all round. And a cameo at the end to rival that in Rogue One. Only complaint was the usual feminist crap with the female droid that Disney like to push but otherwise a solid entry.

She wanted freedom and equal rights for droids, not women. I don't know what the term for wanting equal droid rights is though. Seems fair enough to me though, it always seemed tight that R2-D2 and C-3PO weren't allowed into the cantina!

Rumour has it that Bobba Fett is getting his own stand-alone “Star Wars Story” movie. Looks like it could pick-up where the Solo movie left off. Was worried the Silo movie was going to be a bit shit, but thought it was excellent. Donald Glover was fantastic as Lando, and the score was superb.

The thing with Solo is just how much unabated fun it was and i speak as someone who likes the darker side of it all in general. It's probably the closest in tone to A New Hope. Just waiting for Vader's next appearance now.

I thought it was crap.... I was bored and almost fell asleep half way through...
I’m a Star Wars fan but I’m hating Disney’s control over it. The last Jedi was awful!!!

I saw it tonight, really enjoyed it.
The Social Justice Warrior-bot was shit though, just a really annoying character. Not because of the politics pf it but because the voice was really annoying.
And why did Lando have sexual feelings for it? I know the droid mentioned it and it was supposed to be a joke, but he also actually had a cry-boner when it got fucked up.

The Disney movies have all been far, far better than the Lucas prequels. The Last Jedi was a bit dissapinting overall, but Rougue One was right up there with Empire for me. I think they’ve done a pretty decent job to be honest.

I was just so disappointed with The Last Jedi, it could of been so much more & comparing it to Empire is way off the mark! Hopefully they can try and pick it up again with episode ix, Kenobi & Boba Fett movies???

It was an awful film. Truly awful. The screenwriters have got away with a lot hear simply because they have a fully-formed character of 40 years at the heart of it. Can't fault the performance though.
No story, no plot, it was just ticking boxes and colouring in little details about Han's life. Rogue One actually had depth to it, this was just turgid and boring. They really need to reevaluate how they do these spin offs, I really didn't want to dislike it but I can't defend it.
Donald Glover was annoying and so was his robot friend. Woody Harrelson is Woody Harrelson, you'd struggle to get a bad performance out of him. Did anybody else think it was really noticeable that Chewbacca was much more mobile than he's ever been? And slimmer? Didn't have a clue what was going on when they were doing that Kessel run thing. The Darth Maul thing was daft, I'd heard a spoiler before to be fair and thought he'd at least be more than a hologram!

It's apparently on course, to be the first star wars movie to lose money ( i think it might have the biggest budget at 250m as well)

I believe they were hoping for a sequel but I feel that will be dismissed now? The next spin off movies are Ben Kenobi & then Boba Fett. I would liked to of seen Fett in this, even if it was a short cameo. The Darth Maul scene was confusing and unnecessary.

I had been told about it before I watched expecting some good action from him. They even had to make him draw his lightsaber out to confirm who it was, it was that confusing. He was also awfully chatty for somebody who barely said a word in his only appearance to date?

I'm not really sure what they were building towards with the Darth Maul scene, he's in a lot of the animated series but if you're putting him in a live action movie there needs to be some substance to it. Just felt like it was there for the sake of it, overall I enjoyed it considering I didn't think it would be any good. Solid 7/10 for me.
