Makes you wonder if they feel the Bet365 logo needs to be associated with the championship.

It is impossible to sell anything unless someone wants to buy it.
We are far more attractive to any buyer in the premiership than out of it and nobody has tried to buy us in the time since we have been there so far, so why would they if we go down?
The board are not stupid people. Even if they have a desire to sell up (which I don't believe they do), I am sure they are well aware of these basic facts...

If they do, the the whole culture of the club is gone and we're fucked and become like virtually every other Premiership club.
So, let's hope there's another local, Stoke supporting businessman with billions at his fingertips or it's far eastern owners all the way.

Makes you wonder if they feel the Bet365 logo needs to be associated with the championship. May sound cynically bizarre, but Stoke City is a piss in the ocean compared to the visibility of Bet365. The more I look at Stoke right now, the more it looks like Peter's plaything sanctioned by Denise but she ain't prepared to sink tens of millions more into the coffers.

The only culture I see is one of apathy and failure.

No as they'll never get their money back and no one would pay them enough to make it worth selling

Why do people seem to think Bet365 is associated with Stoke? For the majority of gamblers/fans around the world it is associated with football sponsorship as a whole not just Stoke.

And have done for a couple of years actually. Go on dad... have a go with the football thingy and keep out of my business.. oh all right then another 20 million... but don't spend it all at once 😁

Maybe 'historical' or 'local' culture may have been a better phrase?

Why are we any less attractive to say Chinese ownership than west brom. It would not surprise me to hear that the club have had many offers but politely refused

Buy low, sell high. If their intention is to sell, I think they'll try to get us back up first. We're worth a shedload more while we're in the Premier League.

Football has always been a millionaire's plaything. You don't make money by owning a club, you spend money. The difference is now in a twenty first century global economy, the millionaires are much less likely to have grown up on the terraces, just the same as the footballers don't any longer. Stoke City is currently both a rather quaint anomaly and an anachronism.

Makes you wonder if they feel the Bet365 logo needs to be associated with the championship. All I'd say is remember the ownership of the club and the decision to sponsor the stadium and shirts are not one and the same thing. I think it is highly likely that Bet365 the global Corporation would not be very interested in the Championship but that is not to say the current owners would no longer wish to own the club. The shirt sponsorship runs to the end of next season (summer 2019) and the stadium naming rights for 3 years after that (summer 2022) In the event the unthinkable happens in May I don't think its realistic to think they will renew the shirt deal. These giant on-line gambling corporations live and die on the global brand and Bet365 have offices from Gibraltar to the Northern Territories of Australia. In terms of exposure the Championship just isn't going to cut it. I reckon that ones a gonna if we're a gonna. I'm not so sure about the stadium naming. They are stuck with it to 2022 and I suppose the stadium name is less visible than the shirts in terms of brand awareness. I can't think of a sport other than football that would give them the global reach they need so we may ultimately have the odd situation of Bet365 sponsoring another Premier League club which is not Stoke City. That would feel strange indeed!

Well we play at the Bet365 Stadium Our shirt sponsor is Bet365 All Bet365 adverts feature a team in red and white stripes and the club is owned by Bet365 Other than that there is no link at all

It is much bigger than its association with Stoke City FC Whilst Bet365 does appear at most footy stadiums around the world in one form or another the Stoke-Bet365 liasion has become more linked in the last year or so. Even the Bet365 adverts are now filmed at our stadium & feature Stoke fans in shirts and Stoke training tops. A new Bet365 advert was in production just prior to the Watford game including Stoke fans so the links there for the foreseeable.

Simple answer.......if their investment (and that is all we are to them despite the nostalgic view some have) stands a chance of diminishing significantly they will sell. We are a part of their business and if it isn’t working we will be cut loose......no sentiment.

We are a part of their business and if it isn’t working we will be cut loose......no sentiment. On that basis they are more likely to sell us off if we stay up rather than go down on the basis that they will get more money while we are a Premiership team. If they are looking to sell (and I don't think they are) then if we go down they will probably give it at least two seasons to see if we can get back up there and then sell at a higher price. After a few years in the Championship they may cut their losses - which could easily mean a quick sale to some asset strippers rather than some big money sugar daddy. Be careful what you wish for.
