I suppose Trump and the gun lobby in the USA will still say no need to change the law. Thankfully there are no fatalities and hopefully the injured kids can make a full recovery.

Do tragedies like this even raise eyebrows any more?
Such a routine occurrence in the good old US of A.
Thoughts and prayers - that'll fix it.

America is too far gone, there’s probably three times as many guns in the country as there is people.
In the far out, rural backwaters, I can accept someone having a shotgun in their house, and certainly in the rougher neighbourhoods, perhaps a pistol, but why on earth would the regular average joe need four handguns, an assault rifle, two shotguns, a crossbow, armour piercing rounds, a flak jacket and an uzi in their house?
It’s not for protection at all, they’re a nation of as of yet not fully developed, gun-toting rednecks, it’s never right when your weekly shopping list reads “bog roll, milk, eggs, pump shotgun, dishwasher tablets etc” and they can all be purchased in the same building.

beggars belief how a 12 year old girl can get her hands on weapons like that and think about doing what she did, got to look at the parents and the general consensus of guns in the country.

I was lucky during my school days that I got to visit America twice with the school, we stayed with American families for a few days, on my second trip when I was 17 we went to a party one night, we were staying with the chief of polices daughter and she was driving us about, she offered a lift home to a strange character from her school called forrest (honestly)
he was sat in the back with me and proceeded to show me a massive bag of weed that he had about his person, and a rather large pistol
i was pretty shocked and this lad was not the full shilling, i had spent some time in army cadets and knew a little bit about weapons, just enough so that when he passed me his gun i could check it was safe and remove the magazine to avoid any accidents that may happen
the blasé nature of gun ownership in America is terrifying and that night i genuinely believe there was a high chance i would be spending a night in a cell for being with somebody carrying drugs and a gun or shot
