As others have said, only way we will do it is by pulling a rabbit out of the hat and beating a top 6 side away from home. Can anyone see it though?. And that is the big problem.

I think we’re right in the shit tbh. Not enough investment in the middle and front over the years, relying on the backline and older seniors.

WBA, Huddersfield and Brighton for me, but we will be there or thereabouts, 16th or 17th, maybe a point or two clear (I pray) - it will be tight. Agreed. Last 2 games of the season for us are gonna be huge...Palace at home, Swansea away.....It's an old adage...but fucking hell...6 pointers or what...

Probably need to focus on ourselves and ignore the rest. Teams like Swansea and Bournemouth will have freak results and lose the next week. It’ll even out over the rest of the games, while other teams will drop in form. Focus on getting to 38 points and we will stay up. It doesn’t matter how or where. That’s 14 points from 13 games. Not exactly blistering form, with Southampton, Brighton, Bournemouth, West Ham, Palace and Swansea still to play. Even looking at it pessimistically it’s very achievable.
Bournemouth (a) 1 point Brighton (h) 3 points Leicester (a) 0 points Southampton (a) 1 point Man City (h) 0 points Everton (h) 1 point Arsenal (a) 0 points Tottenham (h) 0 points West Ham (a) 1 point Burnley (h) 3 points Liverpool (a) 0 points Palace (h) 3 points Swansea (a) 1 point
That’s only 3 wins from now until the end of the season, and we’re on 38. it includes a run where we take just 3 points from 7 games. Add in a shock draw/win here and there and we’ll be good come the end of the season.

Depends how Badou does. If he can add the necessary strength, drive, pace and mobility to our central midfield then we stand a chance. If he's not a big improvement on Fletcher, Adam and Cameron though then we'll be one of the 3.
Right now I'm struggling to find 3 clubs I can comfortably predict we'll finish above. Brighton and Huddersfield look poor but after them most of the others seem to have the edge on us especially up front. The one that might save us is Southampton. Although I think their squad should be too strong they've left it even later than us to change manager, if they do at all, and they've looked very poor recently. They could be one of those surprise relegation teams and bail us out.

Goal difference concerns me greatly. Ours is so bad it now wouldn’t surprise me at all if it ends up relegating us.

We are still right in the mix unfortunately. The transfer window was almost okay but it still had a strong whiff of penny pinching about it. The owners are at fault for this situation unfortunately as it appears, to me, that they have not learnt any lessons from their mistakes of the recent past

Swansea and Bournemouth’s recent wins have made it more difficult to predict. I’m praying that West Brom just wont get going and Huddersfield continue to drop. Thereafter I just don’t know, but it hasn’t got any easier for us even with 4 points gained.

West Brom Southampton Huddersfield
All in woefully bad form.
West Brom are relying on a crock to get them out of it. He may well get a couple of goals but he's never going be fit every game Huddersfield are sinking faster than a Mark Hughes team with a wing back system
And Southampton are absolutely fucking hopeless at the moment
Throw in Brighton, Newcastle, Swansea West Ham Watford and us into the mix.
I think we'll be more than okay.

5 points separating 10 teams with 13 games to go. I genuinely have no idea how it will pan out. There’ll be plenty of freak results and dire, tense matches between now and May. If I was taking a guess, I’d say Huddersfield, Newcastle and Brighton. But you can easily throw us, Watford, WBA, Southampton, Bournemouth and Swansea into the mix. Everton, Palace and West Ham could all go on terrible runs too. Fuck knows

I’ll go with WBA, Huddersfield and either ourselves or Swansea, the next 4 games are absolutely massive for us, we need to pick up a couple of wins or we are really going to be in the shit.

Our last 2 games could be the most critical we have faced since promotion: Palace and Swansea?
Or hopefully not if we have enough points already before then 🤞

And that is the big problem. ? we have lots of games against non six sides we need, imho, 4 wins & 2 draws to stay up or 38 points if you prefer possibly less but our goal difference suggests we need 1 more point than others why do we 'have' to beat a top 6 side away to achieve that?

Before Lambert took over i said we'd need 4 wins and 5 draws, so now we need 3 wins and 4 draws or 2 wins and 7 draws.

It's going to be an exciting (if that's the right word) run in and it might even come down to which team's recent acquisitions make the biggest impact and provide the biggest improvement. Brighton 2 new strikers including Ulloa...will that solve their poor goal scoring? Not sure Newcastle...will Slimani get some goals to win them a few games? Maybe he's a decent striker Soton...Carillo a 1 in 4 striker for Monaco is that enough? Could be a struggle Stoke....Is Badou going to completely energise a pretty ropey midfield? Certainly looks an improvement. WBA.... A fit Sturridge will be a match winner for them....but how many games will he start?
It looks like Wham Bourne Palace are solid enough and have ok management to stay clear. Watford will cheat a few points to keep them up. I think WBA with or without Sturridge will be OK. Their performance at Anfield recently was a real eye opener and have a better first xi than most of the relegation candidates. So..... 16) Stoke 17) Newcastle...Rafa can gets the best out of a bunch of championship level players to just about do it 18) Swansea....I think their surge in form is temporary 19) Brighton...Lack of goals will sink them 20) Hudders....Look absolutely awful and sinking like a stone

as of today 1st Feb I would say its between
Brighton Huddersfield Southampton Stoke Watford
Hard to pick 3 from them of the rest at risk
Newcastle - Slimani should help them Albion - Sturridge should do the same Palace - Good enough to escape Bournemouth - Decent side now the like sof Wilson and King are back , full of energy and pace West Ham- good enough when all players fit again .
We haven;t done enough in the window to balance the team unless Badou is a superstar or Lambert can get osmehting out of the likes of Jese, Shaq, Saido and Choupo that we havent really sen enough of .
Feels like it is going to be very tight down there .

We need a big result like other teams around us are getting. A win at Bournemouth would do the trick. We have to start picking up points away from home I cannot see us getting anything at Bournemouth after their result today. Absolutely nothing. Not our Managers fault, the players. Fucking overpaid wankers Lambert will react to that performance and put another team out and change tactics. We may not get anything, but after last night's debacle he knows he has to start to change things on the pitch as well as what he has been doing off the pitch. Bournemouth are riding high but are due for a loss. They will be more interested in playing football than Watford, although I expect they will do their usual antics of jumping on the ground if someone looks at them too hard! As Bournemouth's and Swansea's results demonstrate, anyone can beat anyone, if they play to their potential.

If we had won last night I would be more positive but yet again we failed to take the game by the scruff of the neck against a team in freefall.
Hope to god that I'm wrong but something really does need to change quickly.

Any 3 from 11. Palace and Swansea have been written off once and come back. Any one of the 11 can have either a good run to make them safe or a bad run to send them down Fluke results like Bournemouth and Swansea just had may continue to happen as the top 4 becomes clear or clubs concentrate on the CL
Really it could be any body but my view WBA Brighton Udders (or us )

We need to continue this run of clean sheets.
We will grab the odd goal at the other end of the pitch to gather extra points.
I have an inkling we might get something from one of the top teams.
