Can I just say “Paul Lambert has just gone up massively in my estimation”

More like QSF given that we had no interest in Rowett in the first place. Make of it what you will but Derby by all accounts were shitting it and gave him a very much improved contract. We will never know because no one is going to admit to it because it's in no one's interest to do so.

Hughes is a manager and not a coach. Lambert seems way more hands on and in touch with the players and staff which is great to see. He comes across as likeable but maybe thats more due to the fact that everyone was tired of Hughes these last months. When Pulis left we were all saying what a breath of fresh air that Hughes is in comparison to TP. Lambert is in the honeymoon period and long may it last. But rest assured it wont last forever, thats the way with football fans Correct. It's all about results. So far so good but tomorrow night is massive. We have to win.

I forecast Lambert was going to be our Manager long before some tosspots on here were berating him. I was also his biggest cheerleader when he was appointed. He is possibly one of the few managers who can unite our fan base at this moment in time. Goooaaaarŕnnn Paul. 1-1 tomorrow bye the way. 😊

Is it just me or does it seem like Spinksy and the Sentivale are really banging in a few digs in at the old regime. I've thought the same. Either Sparky was more of an arse to them then they let on or it's club based PR to try and get Lambert onside with the fans by making him look positive in comparison. Not sure how necessary it all is tbh, comes across a bit petty for me

How many posts/threads did you have deleted yesterday? How do you know that? My original thread was deleted because I questioned the statements on this message board about an approach to Rowett from SCFC. Quite a legitimate question. I was informed by the Admin that I was given thirty minutes to provide a link to my story. My thread was then deleted. I didn't receive any message to this effect prior to the deletion. Bizarre. The story was in the Sunday Mirror and quite clearly stated that Rowett was approached by Stoke. Rowett confirmed this. This is obviously a very touchy subject for you and your message board crew. Bizarre. There was no interest from us whatsoever, Rowett used media speculation to quickly agree a new improved deal with Derby.

cant say your wrong about Sparky, he seemed to adopt his style from Ferguson who famously had very little to do with with day to day training, he would cast his eye over players on occasion but on a whole would mainly appear on match day and manage the game Difference was Fergie knew how to do it. Difference was Ferguson knew exactly when it was time to change it up on the training ground, and did so regularly. The idea that Ferguson was not fully on top of what went on the training ground is laughable. Nothing went on at United without him knowing about it. Maybe he didn't visibly watch ever session at the touchline, but you can be damn sure he'll have been watching from a distance at least a few times per week. Hughes, i'm not so sure. How he could not have taken action in the summer regarding the backroom staff suggests to me he was no way on top of what was going on at clayton woods. It was evident to anyone who watched us that what ttraining was being done regarding fitness and shape was not sufficient, and hadn't been for some time. I'm sure it's incredibly difficult to sack your best mate, but that didn't prevent him from bringing in another voice, another pair of eyes.

Workaholic Stoke boss Paul Lambert setting example for his relegation candidates with TWELVE hour days The Potters' new boss has been putting in 12-hour shifts since replacing Mark Hughes just over a fortnight ago.
Now he's demanding the same work ethic from his players as they prepare to face Watford tonight.
“I'm at the training ground from the back end of 7am and I don't get home until about half-seven at night so I'm doing 12-hour days,” said the Scot.
“I want us to be on the front foot every time - the intensity is the way I want to play. They're grasping that which is really good.”

Indeed but why did he do it ?, apparently he knew all about our players prior to getting the position.

Have we ever had a manager you rated as you've slated every single one constantly on here ad nauseum...

I’ll stick my neck on the block and say , this will end in tears.
I’m not going off us drawing to Watford at home, it only my gut feeling on our tactics and character (albeit only two games)
Not only is hoofball boring as fuck, but we’re shite at it.
Huddersfield game was dreadful until we suddenly had a good period after the break of mixing it up with plenty of passing too
Wonder how players like shaq feel playing championship style football
Our new manager reminds me of a cheap copy of TP
Early days I suppose

Not turned on him at all, I just questioned the rationale of playing the two together knowing the issues with both regarding their lack of mobility, hopefully he will have learned a little more than he already knew from their performances last night. By the way I rated Waddo and Lou very highly

If he thinks that 12 hour days make him a workaholic he needs to get in the real world. I like many others am out of the house for 12 hours a day travelling to work, at work and travelling home - 5 days a week - i tell a lie its interspersed with at least a day a fortnight being 16 hours or more. Added to that working at home for a few hours at weekends.

All welcome news if Lambert can get the players to put it into practice. It really does beg the question though......just what the fuck had Hughes been doing?
