Nice story.
I like Rangers more than I did now.

Rangers came and played a game with us to raise money for a local colliery disaster. It was our gift back to them... ThanX. My Grandfather was a deputy in the pit, which entailed detonating coal out of the face. He was buried in coal at least twice & on one occasion my grandmother was told he was dead, yet he still went back to work. He definitely ha a bit of PTSD about him. Sounds like my grandad. Tough old bastards they were. Stokie born, stokie bred, strong in the arm and thick in the head...

I was just having a tour of Ibrox and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this cup on display. I noticed the Staffordshire knot handles and then saw ‘Stoke City FC’ written on it. It’s in Rangers main trophy room, along side European trophies and hundreds of pieces of silverware. Up the potters

If you go across town to Hampden, you will see the loving cup given to the Scottish FA. It is proudly on display there and again a fuss will be made if they know you are a Stokie.

Seeing as next year will see the coronation of a new monarch, perhaps we should repeat our generosity and have another set of loving cups made to commemorate the occasion.
It would put the club and also some of our local potters on the map.
