Another poster mentioned something the other night about players that never quite lived up to their potential. I thought of Francis Jeffers but never posted anything. Had a look and yes he was certainly one. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Jeffers

Cherno Samba has to be the classic example. 100+ goals in 30 odd games as a youth player. Liverpool came in with a 2 million pound offer to Millwall for him (which they turned down) - downward spiral from there.

I then refer you to my previous post You are comedy gold And you're incredibly thick. Cmon then Maradona what part of Spanish international and a champions league medal at one of the planets biggest clubs is not fulfilling his potential ?

And you're incredibly thick. Cmon then Maradona what part of Spanish international and a champions league medal at one of the planets biggest clubs is not fulfilling his potential ? He's played one game for Spain, and please don't tell me how important he was in Barcelona's Champions League campaign. Even Sulley Muntari and Scott Carson have Champions League medals. Bojan has not lived up to his potential this is why he's been on loan to many different clubs and then always sent straight back. He's played for Stoke though so he's obviously a world class talent in your deluded eyes.

Adel Taraabt and Hatem Ben Arfa spring immediately to mind.
Some of the most skilful footballers on the planet, complete and utter workshy wankstains though.

And you're incredibly thick. Cmon then Maradona what part of Spanish international and a champions league medal at one of the planets biggest clubs is not fulfilling his potential ? You can't seriously think he fulfilled and lived up to his potential when he was coming out of Barcelona academy? The guy was supposed to be better than Messi...

In the middle of the 80ies we had a youngster called Chris Mcauthrie or something like that on our books, and when the senior players were interviewed most of them mentioned him as the next big thing. Never seemed to happen though! Do you remember?
