Don't get me wrong, I love being in the Premier league but there was some kind of connection with many of the less talented players from the lower leagues than there is now with the stars we have in the top league. Toddy is a prime example, nowhere near the class of Shaq but still remembered with affection nearly 20 years later.

Great little player and certainly could related more to the players of that era then now in the Prem. Closest I would say is Muniesa who is not the greatest but just seems to love a game of footy if picked!

I was only young so may have been mistaken but I always rated Gleghorn more from that midfield to Toddy.
Toddy is also in the same special place Graham Kavanagh is in my memory where players can fuck off. Decades on and still not forgiven.

One of my favourite players from 93/94 and 94/95. Shame it ended on a sour note. He got slaughtered when he played against us at Boundary Park at the end of 95/96.
We certainly seemed to get the best out of him as a goalscorer, he only managed to score once in four seasons at Oldham.
The Sunderland goal was one of the best in the last few years at the Vic. I think Carruthers tries to take it off him at 0.33. Toddy's like "f*** off Martin, I'll do it myself".

Lung bursting runs from deep, set pieces, penalties, arriving late in the box and some scorching finishes. Not once did he actually go 'running down the wing'!

He was a good player but didnt he fuck us off for Forest? The nature of his departure was rather twattish. If you have a problem with the club you play for that's one thing but thousands of people spend good money to watch you play. I can't believe them performances at the start of 95/96 were the best he could do. If that was Toddy giving his all the premise of this thread changes and he was actually wank.
