I don't actually watch anything now at home.
No mainstream,no SKY/BT,no NETFLIX and no KODI etc.
If the wife left tomorrow the TV would follow her.
Is there anyone else that feels like I do??

Got an iptv sub to watch the games but that's it the Ariel isn't even plugged in. So when people say "did you see xyz" I literally have no idea. Been the same for 3 years now. It's great.

I get my news off the BBC News website.
And I watch a couple of programmes at work-that's it for me.

We were discussing this at home the other night. If and when the tv is on it’s invariably playing background music via YouTube while we sit and read or do other things. We would both quite happily live without it. I don’t read the papers or watch the news, don’t bother with twitter or Facebook anymore just listen to the radio mainly. To be honest I think my life is much richer since we gave up on tv and social media sites. Should have done it years ago 😁

I have got BT and Netflix, and watch loads on the latter, but I totally understand someone who says "Fuck it". A mate of mine hasn't even got a TV and he seems to manage OK.

I haven't had a TV and watched regular for over ten years
We don't have a landline and so we have had to use wireless broadband
The last few years with good bundle deals means I began to watch YouTube a lot, mainly information over entertainment
Recently we got a deal with unlimited data when streaming Netflix
I have binged on Stranger Things, the weird The Mist and the beautifully shot, cinematic, almost art house Wormwood
I tend to be far more discerning than I did in my TV addiction years over a decade ago

See my post below Most TV is now banal and predictable But as I put-I aren't interested in Netflix or the suchlike. I suppose I should have said any televisual entertainment in any form or format. I think it's a very healthy thing that you have and you shouldn't consider yourself abnormal, quite the reverse. I used to spend my idle moments listening to radio 4 @ 4extra but I've become bored with the constant repeats year on year and have found some things on Netflix superb. I have to be careful because I'm a TV addiction in my youth, my whole life revolving around the TV to the exclusion and detriment to my relationships. When I'm immersing myself in TV I find it's because I'm shutting off from the outside world, I can become totally detached I think being free from TV allows you to be alive and in the moment, being a human being, doing, not a human watching More power to you, I envy you 👍

I could live without tv prefer gaming to be honest and I’m forty this year but if I had to give that up and just read I’d be more than happy. I watch Netflix and Amazon for movies and tv programmes the only thing I have watched that’s terrestrial tv based is inside no 9 and blue planet 2 but I watched that on iPlayer in 4k
