Looks like Chelsea (u23s) could well be going to Wembley in this comp. Thus doing some Div 1Div 2 supporters out of a cracking day out at Wembley An absolute and utter disgrace It may seem small time now but those two Autoglass Trophy wins we’re a real tonic in the dark days. To be done out of a day like that by a Premier League youth side would have been truly gutting Hope the FA rethink this for next year

I can't understand why we've allowed our club's name to be dragged through this mess.

Agreed. Good competition made shit by football authorities.
Can anybody tell me with a straight face that the Checkatrade Trophy is going to help England win a World Cup???
That was the thinking wasn't it!!!

Gross decision, and the first step on a slippery slope to official feeder teams and a two-tier club system.
I kind of hope they make the final, just so the other team boycotts it to highlight the absolute condescension and contempt the FA have for fans.

Another disgusting bit of stuff thrown at those magnificent supporters of the lower league teams. Micky Mouse Cups! Those days we had were as good as any other. In fact I preferred them to our Final with Man City. Nothing comes close to winning at Wembley, no matter what competition it is.
OS.

The coach down, being disgusted the condition of Wembley, Thorne's winner off the quick free kick, the noise when we lifted it. Happy memories, now imagine all that but you're beating Chelsea' youth side. Absolute shambles.

I always remember my Dad telling me after we beat Rochdale in the Semi that we were going to Wembley, I didn't sleep that night.

Couldn't agree more. When we were scrapping down there we really, really wanted to win those competitions. My first game was in 1985, so for me, growing up, Stoke were a lower league side. Autoglass was ace! Totally ruined by this daft rule on U23 teams. I too hope we sack it off next year. The FA would be better marketing an U23 cup better and spending some cash on it, rather than hijacking a lower league cup. Only slight saving grace is that most of the youth teams have been roundly beaten... Ours included!
