If Harrison is signing,if Jese is staying then we don't need another wide player. However sometimes it's hard to turn good players down.

Superb player. Remember him tearing us apart a few years back. Couldn't believe it when Chelsea let him go. A few years ago? It was 10 years ago!

He's going to Newcastle isn't he? They're supposed to break their transfer record and it think it will be for his signature. Something around £20m

I think he is a top player, but we have bigger priorities right now? An out and out striker would be better than another wide forward, and a defensive midfielder too.

Good guy to have around the place. He would be someone who speaks more on Crouch's level!

In the right formation I think he could play up top He could, but for me it’s the equivalent of putting the likes of Choupo / Jesé / Arnie (if he was still here) etc up front - better to just sign a decent striker and play him up top instead of playing a wide forward there? On very rare occasions it does work (Henry at Arsenal) That said, I’d love for this guy to sign for us - I just think other positions are a higher priority

Looks like he's being dangled for whoever wants him... www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/sport/west-bromwich-albion-want-andre-schuerrle-f8bq9078gWest Bromwich Albion are plotting an audacious move to sign Germany’s World Cup winner André Schürrle on loan for the rest of the season. The 27-year-old is out of favour at Borussia Dortmund, who are willing to subsidise his £140,000-a-week wages to get him off their books for the rest of the campaign. West Brom have opened talks with Dortmund, but are struggling to complete the deal at present because they need to shift players from their wage bill before making any new signings.

I'd be well hacked off if they got him and we were in for him, it'd prove to me that the Pizza boys are penny pinching again, still as theres a game on deadline day they can order their pizzas earlier 😬

It always seems to me that they end up going to other clubs; I'm thinking back to Southampton, Norwich, Newcastle, ... Wait a minute I've just remembered we got Joe Allen and Swansea were also after him, but I can't think of any more. We seem to have a policy of signing quickly and not getting into an auction.

I can't believe some people wouldn't want him. Proven in the league, had a little rough patch but still quality. Think he'd be perfect in a 4-3-3 and link up with Shaqiri brilliantly. Still don't think he would come though.

They seem to have problems behind the scenes at Dortmund.

I wonder if there is still any sell-on clauses with Schurrle and Chelsea? If so could be some interesting deals constructed with Crouchie involved.

It's a defensive midfielder we need. A quality one. Schurrle is top quality, but we don't necessarily need him.
Who would we drop? Would he be up to the pace?

If Harrison is signing,if Jese is staying then we don't need another wide player. However sometimes it's hard to turn good players down. Jese is not really a lw. It's just the position that Hughes happened to stick him in in the one good game he played for us. He's more of a false striker. Would probably love to play just behind our main striker - if ever we get one.

Schurle's main problem could be that he has gotten himself pigeonholed as a supersub, underscored by games where he's started he's been rubbish.
But no player in his prime wants to play just 20 odd minutes, so he's moved from one club to another in search of regular 90 minutes. But his image stays the same, and so does his ability in games.
