Glad he's off to a good start. I thought I was going to have to try to convince you he's actually decent but seems he's started to do that himself.
He's great on the touchline. Said this on that other thread about his approach and philosophy:
"The thing I ready loved about Lambert at Norwich (and people might be surprised about this because he's known as very dour, especially after his stint at Villa) was his energy. He was prominent on the sideline and brought real life and spark to everything. He'd be the pantomime villain of he needed to be, he'd be on the pitch when we scored, he'd be on the pitch in front of the fans after every game. It brought a togetherness and a spirit to the club. We've missed that since."
Think you've seen that today.
Right I'll piss off out of your forum now and leave you to it. All the best for the rest of the season.

Honestly, this is what we've been missing. I've always taken the piss out of people that call for 'PASHUN' when there is none. But it goes along way. When you've got a manager that goes through every fucking kick with every player, is able to assert himself without being like some twatish dictator, or a miserable bastard that reacts to nothing, it makes all the difference to players. Seeing Lambert celebrate that second goal like one of us... That's something special.

He was one of the last on my list to replace our last manager. One thing is for certain, he will prove people wrong 100%. I have absolutely no issue with that whatsoever. Sometimes there is a synergy between club, manager, players and fans and I reckon we might have hit onto something here. Lou Macari was our best manager in modern times, despite not reaching the heights of Tony Pulis. The reason he was everyone's favourite was because he spoke openly, honestly, from the heart, with passion and he set his teams up to run through brick walls for the club. They were super fit and they were never beaten. In time I think Paul Lambert will have this team doing exactly that. I'll say something else too, it is football that Stoke fans will get behind 100%. They'll enjoy getting behind it aswell. He's come across so far as humble, passionate, intelligent, hard working and up for a challenge. I've never known a personal opinion switch so fast as mine has over Lambert. He'll more than do for me. Now though, I just want the club to match that hard work, sheer graft, passion and intelligence in the transfer market and get the players in he wants.

I was not happy when we appointed him. I will be happy to eat humble pie. He has been excellent in interviews, he was excellent today. I hope it continues. I think it will.......

I didn’t want Paul Lambert as manager but I’m warming to his honesty; humility; passion and enthusiasm. Never have I changed my mind so quickly from despair to cautious optimism. If we play like today for the rest of the season 40 points plus surely beckons?

It was the first time I've seen our players play with that level of intensity since we beat Liverpool at Anfield
He's obviously made it clear what he wants and they have responded.
Shawcross and zouma had their best games of the season. We didn't give away any chances.
The most important thing is we have set a benchmark. The players know what is expected and how to go about things. With 5 favourable games coming up I expect us to pull away from the bottom three, provided we make a few signings

I like how his sleeves were rolled up. That's my favourite celebration I've seen for a long time.
I hope some people realise how much they over-reacted after his appointment and remember that if we're ever in a similar situation in future. It's early days, but the signs are positive and I hope he's here for a long time. I've never seen opinion change so quickly. I wasn't overly excited, but thought he was a good appointment (definitely safer than Sanchez Flores). I love his attitude already so that makes it a big turnaround for me!

Great see Lambo on the touchline giving it loads.
I'm going to put a dampener on it though. (Sorry)
Manager touchline actions are always ace....if you win. If we had lost people on here would be slagging him off for it.
When we beat Bolton at Wembo our manager's intensity on the sidelines was deemed a big positive and showed he was with hus players etc. Two years later the same hyperactive presence was considered the action of a control freak who was intimidating his players.
There's only two games ever I can think of where different manager behaviour might have influenced a game. And that's not many.

I think managers often have one club and job that they fit more perfectly than any other in their career.
I hope we become his.

Ive got family that live in Norwich and they were devastated when Learambo left..Norwich fans loved him and I can see why. He engages with the fans and he shows passion..He brings people together and injects some heart into the club. EXACTLY what Stoke need. Paul Lamberts Barmy Army.

Great start and it will only take a few wins to get us to mid table. The most pleasing thing today apart from the 3 points was the clean sheet. I’m sure over the next 10 days we will see a few leave and a midfielder and striker arrive. That will then be a Good window.

Massive 90 min it was for him. He will be given a chance now Ibby, you can’t be that fickle ?.......I’ve just finished my “Lambo out” “Coates the old goat” and “Scholes & Cartwright need fookin off ASAP” signs. What time did you say that protest starts ? 😉

I also thought the substitutions he made and the timing of them made good sense in terms of game management ....... that certainly made a difference as well!

But if you lose the methods that get lauded in victory are criticised in defeat. Even if the aforementioned method is the same.

I'm normally in this camp, but I think it made a genuine difference yesterday. We played with much more energy and that started on the touchline. Whenever the players were beginning to switch off and go back to Hughes mode, the manager on the touchline kept them going.
