Well he was astute enough to see we needed a new LB so I’ll d say that was a good start. His first team selection will be very interesting and revealing

I suspect it wouldn't have taken him that long to look at video's of our performances this season and see what the problems are. Plus he'll have scouting contacts (I would imagine) who have watched us this season.

He'll do what any sensible new manager would do I expect. He will try to get the players on side and he will use his limited time with them between now and Saturday to drill them on shape and what he expects from them on and off the ball.
After Saturday, he will use a lengthy gap between the next fixture to really work them hard so that they are at the levels he wants them to be at whilst also getting them even further onside. Training will be hard but fun I expect as he seeks to build bridges with the players and earn both their respect and trust.
That is certainly how he's been talking and I'm sure he even said that over the next 2 days it will be case of taking the players "back to basics".

This thought struck me when it was announced Eddie Nxxxx was leaving. He may have been unsuitable for Lambert's needs but he could have advised on actions that have failed in the past so errors are not repeated. I thought this again this morning when I watched the video of Lambert taking a training session with Johnson involved.
Not that everything that has failed before should not be tried again, circumstances change.
As an aside it was good watching the training seeing the players playing keepyuppy and all having to do press-ups when the ball hit the ground.

it`ll be interesting to see whether he whisks the team away to Dubai for a few days for some warm weather training or settles for 8-9 days of hard slog at Clayton Woods ? I know which I prefer and which our over paid superstars deserve !

I don't get this Dubai warm weather training, we will be playing in cold/poor weather conditions for the next few weeks, surely the training environment should mirror the match day environment?

I think he'll be aware that this season now is all about survival, nothing more, nothing less!!!
If he keeps us up, then we can see what he's made of next season!!!

Bollock naked up in Scotland Agreed .Up here in the far north of the Scottish Highlands we've got a superb environment for team training. Lots of hills ( bens ) and sand dunes to run up and down , big sandy beaches to run on , the sea and lochs to swim in and to cool down we've got the bracing air of one of the windiest parts of Britain. Also we've got plenty of peat bogs and forests for fuel to make fires outside their tents. Coming here would be much better than going to Dubai !

He's commented several times about 'team spirit' I think he believes that there isn't one and this will be a priority and drills like the keepy uppy one will be aimed at achieving this. If the players get on board with him then I can see him working wonders even though when he was announced I was in a 4hour mood. I've totally come around to him and he's totally sold himself to me.
