This is the way forwards. See what we've been missing.
Those photos of Paul Lambert tell the real story, especially that one of him leaping in the air. Quite incredible.
I am in no doubt now, we are staying up. Lambert's attitude alone is everything we need right now, and everything we've lacked for a good few years at least.

Nice to hear from Wagner = the Bear Pit is Back!
Huddersfield manager David Wagner, speaking to Match of the Day: "It was difficult. For me, it was because Stoke and their supporters were really on it. They were really aggressive and limited us and I felt they deserved it. They limited our offensive game.
"It shouldn't be a surprise that Stoke is a top-quality side even if they are not in the best position in the table. We fought and tried everything but were limited offensively.
"I have to accept where we are in the table. It's only us who can change it. We have fought since the first day of the season and, even though we have now six games with only three points, we know we have to collect more points to surviv

That photo of Paul leaping in the air is arguably the best Stoke City related related photo I've seen in my whole time supporting the club. It's certainly the best photo of any of our managers.
Incredibly good stuff.
That wants posting in the matchday thread every time we score from now on.

They clearly came to dampen the mood and stop us playing. Resorted to wasting time and feigning injury from the off to break it up so the first goal was crucial even if it did turn into a bit of a scrap because it was all stop-start. Once we got the goal they had to play, the game opened up and it was a much better spectacle.

I enjoyed every second of that. What a transformation! Makes me wonder why the same players could not play with the same endeavour under Hughes!

Beautiful. Great use of all the technical area from Lambo too, covered every single blade of grass within it many times over he was halfway down the pitch a few times too!

Huddersfield were really really shit, make no mistake.
What a difference it made playing players in their proper positions though. People have been saying on here for ages - play Diouf up top and he'll score goals. (Obviously he'll shank a fair few in the process)
Tom's a really promising footballer but Hughes stuck him at RB out of the blue. He's always played Midfield and I'd like to see him put there at some point - Bauer was solid barre some wayward passing.
But I thought the biggest positive to the whole performance came from having the guts to drop Wimmer, didn't the defence just look so much more competent and confident!
You contrast this performance with the one a few weeks ago and Huddersfield were bricking it this time.
Well played today!

Just settling down after getting home. Great result, and a well deserved win. Could, and should have won by more, but a massive three points. Well done to the new lad, for his man of the match performance, surely no one could begrudge him that. What a difference a bit of pace makes. Not getting carried away just yet, but it's great to look forward to going again, and the crowd were magnificent. I hope Paul Lambert really enjoyed that. Well done!

Give it a rest, the defence looked better because we were playing Huddersfield not Man Utd, and we have a new lease of life with Lambert in charge. It’s not down to Wimmer not playing, save your abuse for the next time he has a bad game, or better still, keep it to yourself - it’s not going to do the lad any favours.

So yeah I'd argue strongly it is down to Wimmer not playing for the reasons stated and evidence of terrible games against teams we really shouldve been keeping out Don't even think about telling me what I can/can't say - ta

I don’t understand why Huddersfield didn’t cut through our defense like a knife through butter! Everybody else has this season. Amazing to see the improvement today. Makes you wonder......

Just back , much more intensity about the players , bit too quick first half , but better second , 5 more with wins would do it but still think we really need to beat Watford and Brighton because it drags and pushes them in genuine 6 pointers .

I agree that it was great to get a win today and the extra effort from the players was clear to see. More clear to see was the lack of quality in the Huddersfield team. So we in the end scored two very good goals against a very poor side. I may be wrong but weren't our first two shots on goal goals? This win will certainly chear everyone up this weekend. I just hope fans don't get too carried away yet as we are a long way from out of the woods just yet.

Zoumas defensive headers today have been immense. White men cant jump!! I hate that film and I hate that saying. Tim Cahill for example. However Zouma was excellent today.

We are not out of the woods yet, but we had to start somewhere - and it was here. All things considered, today was probably better than most of us were expecting.

I was really impressed by us today. Not seen us press like that for a long, long time. Especially first 5/10 minutes we started really quick.
It was a game of head tennis at times, but you can't argue with a 2-0 win, really chuffed and genuinely proud to be a Stokie tonight.
Shawcross and Zouma were absolutely rock solid, how on earth Zouma can hang in the air like that is beyond me. Two great goals from us, lovely team moves up there amongst the best we've scored in the PL era. Lovely finish from Diouf too, seen him bottle them many a time.
Wish we were playing Watford this Wednesday, ride the wave!!

Thought we were top draw this afternoon. Credit to Lambert and the lads for being up for the battle and showing some genuine commitment to the cause. Proud day and I hope for many more like this before the end of the season. Feeling positive about Stoke for the first time in a long time

The first half was typical 'bottom of the league' stuff.......both sides tentative, and lacking conviction.
If Shaq's (botched) effort just before half-time had gone in, I think we could have plastered 'em. Once we scored, we gained confidence, and (for once) my heart wasn't in my mouth for the rest of the game, hoping we wouldn't concede and throw the game away - we actually pressed for another goal instead of parking the bus
It's certainly what we needed, and the revival hopefully starts here
If the Jack Harrison signing comes off, that'll be another positive
Onward and upward

The second half is what I want to see much more of: the high-tempo and pressing with quality football when we do break. The first half was pretty bad because we were shocking in possession and didn't play any football at all.
The key when playing this way is being able to break quickly as soon as we get the ball. Joe Allen's ideal as that trigger point for the press but Fletcher needs to be replaced pronto and probably Charlie eventually.
I also liked seeing Shaq being able to run into loads of space as his pace got up up the pitch very quickly - that sprint that led to Choupo's shot is a great example of that.
