Very sad and 59 is no age. He was a great player for WBA and was held in high respect here at Stoke. Condolences to his family and close friends.

What a team that late 70's West Brom was,Regis with a shot like a jackhammer and the gazelle like athleticism of Laurie Cunningham. Both gone too soon. Rip.

Very sad news indeed. As stated before, what wouldn't we give for a player with the class and power of Cyril right now. My thoughts go out to his family, friends and Baggies supporters for their loss.

Oh God what a shame and at just 59. The guy was not only a phenomenal footballer but a pioneer and role model for a whole new generation of black footballers.
RIP Cyrille - legend and revolutionary.

I remember Smithy saying Regis was the only Centre Forward he dreaded playing against as he was an utter handful I think he was the last player he put on his backside in his last game towards the end! Was indeed a great player. R.I.P. Always remember this, brilliant!

I think secretly WBA were everyone’s second team, at the time black footballers were deemed to be to soft, lazy and undisciplined but then Big Ron bravely unleashed the 3-Degrees upon the First Division. Big Cyril was a colossus who with the help of the first wave of black footballers helped to stamp all those misconceptions into the mud of wich they graced. R.I.P a giant in many ways. P.s our own Garth Crooks takes some shit on here but people would do well to remember he was are own pathfinder.
