Megson's already got his job interview angle nailed. Gary Megson thought his days in football were over before his shock return to Albion as assistant manager this summer. The 58-year-old has lifted the lid on his five-year exodus, explaining how he ‘gave up trying’ to force his way back into management following a series of knock-backs for jobs he felt he was more than capable of landing... He's lost his voice, pulled his thigh and walked into the broom cupboard but Sir Gary Megson is buzzing to be back “There were some jobs I would go for and I’d think...’when I was here (at Albion) I was promoted twice from the Championship so I know what I’d do there” “Take a team that’s come down from the Premier League and get it straight back automatically – not ******* about in the play-offs? I’ve done that. “Keeping a team that was on it’s **** in the Premier League? I’ve done that. “At Sheffield Wednesday, I’ve gone there and naively said if we really catch fire we could get into the sixth spot – then having seen them for 49 minutes I’m saying: ‘**** sake! We’re going to struggle to stay up here.’ “But we did that and moved the club forward.

Fucking embarrassing and disasterous. Any of those 3 clowns will take us down. If we must go unemployed - and with the clock ticking we must now- then Clement for me ahead of these 3 stoogies......and as for that utter qunt Redknapp he'd take us down and bankrupt us.

Knows the club, as something to prove as well and may resign Kevin Keen! 😁

I wouldn't even trust any of those three to get us in the play-offs next season

If these three were interviewed, you could safely say that the successful applicant would be the one who said they could do the job by spending the least amount of money. Like I have said before, there are reasons why our club has continually under-achieved, the current predicament is simply adding to the long list.

Surely Lambert is better than the other two?
Also, why have we written Koeman and Potter off?

I’m sorry but this is down to Peter Coates and his narrow minded attitude towards shopping abroad. How can he honestly think any of these 3 would get us out of this mess. It’s so small time. I can’t think of 3 worse candidates. It’s slmost like he wants us relegated. If these are his choices he needs to retire. Did I read recently that Denise Coates is actually the brains behind bet365 or did I dream it? If it’s true maybe her old man is not such a smart business man after all. It’s clear he can’t a run a football 100 million pound football club.

Why about jap Stam. Koeman. The wolves manager. Sorry just aiming slightly higher than the board. No way will it be Nuno because we are going down and Wolves are going up. They’re probably a bigger, more ambitious club that Stoke as well. They beat us easily in the cup last season too.

If any of these 3 get it, it’s game over (regardless of if we stay up)!. It will divide the fans more, we will fail get to a good atmosphere going and there will likely be a 40-50% drop in season tickets!
The one thing we need is something to bring the fans back. Only a left field appointment will do that. These old school managers will just send us back further and further!

Surely we are getting to the point where Coates will have to abandon all of his criteria in terms of the kind of person he wants. All of his first choice candidates are gone and we are in a desperate position. Personally, I don't Lambert would be as bad as people think. Just need a mini winning streak to keep us safe and then force him out as soon as a better candidate is available in future?

The " I don't want MON brigade must be happy though. Sounds like we are trawling through fishless seas. None of the 3 names inspires confidence, piss poor situation.

We really have made a farce of this, can't believe we would sack Hughes without some back up, especially given the fact that all the out of work managers had been snapped up. Would have done better to stick with Hughes until the end of the season.

Lambert's record is quite good - we need someone who is genuinely hungry to make their name or restore their reputations. Some of the names bandied about on here - Rafa, Brendan Rodgers, Gus Hiddink etc etc are just complete pie in the sky
