I could actually live with Megson getting it on the basis that he was doing a damn good job here for a few months first time around! The other two would be dreadful though. Yeah. 19 YEARS AGOWhat a fucking mess.

old PC's attitude towards looking for a manager is really holding us back. why does it HAVE to be one of the old british boys? there's a big old world out there. Germany are light-years ahead of us with this sort of thing. lots of good, young, up-and-coming managers in the Bundesliga.
I think it's the 'safe and steady' approach that he likes, where you know what you're going to get. all of the names we've been linked with are just on the managerial merry go round. new club, brief success, poor results, sacked. repeat. I'd HATE stoke to just become one of these clubs.

Well, that’s the most underwhelming manager shortlist I’ve ever seen. Brilliant Stoke, just brilliant 😕

They are responsible for the club as a whole. They should have at least have had a nailed on replacement for Hughes. They can't even do that. For me the board are as much to blame as Hughes with their penny pinching and transfer fuckwittery. H I do blame them for not sacking Hughes and his team at the end of last season, the fans turned their back on him when the majority walked away before the infamous lap of dishonour last home game, if he had any pride he would have resigned not carried on creating even more mess, whoever if we can get somebody to take over they will be left with a poorer squad of players than he inherited. To be fair, Sparky DID probably deserve the benefit of the doubt going to this season, but the writing has been on the wall since October. He should have been given the chop after Spurs at the very latest.

If that’s what we’re left with it would be McLaren then.
The only one remotely capable of keeping us in the premier.

That "D" list is a shambles. People who've not done anything in or with the Premiership for yonks, and whose names are quite frankly toxic. As above says, we might as well stick with Eddie, here's to the championship.

Mark Hughes is currently doing nowt. He has not been doing a lot for the last eighteen months either, what a legacy this twat has left us. Toatally agree and i said this on here when pulis left we were a secure mid table team slowly progressing and always having a decent stab at both cups look at the shitfest Hughes has left us in same as he did to QPR and they still havent recovered He is so arrogant was never his fault when at qpr and this isnt his fault now total nob at least hes gone and took his puppet mark bowen ith him God bless the next club stupid enough to fall for his bullshit

What a mess. If true, we're clearly onto the short term option and try again in the summer plan with these 3.
But trying again as a Championship club.

Any proven manager, with a few quid in his pocket and an experienced agent, will steer well clear of this club unless he gets assurances from Coates that there is good money in the kitty to spend. Apart from Butland and perhaps Shaqiri we have no saleable assets.
No other club in world football would be prepared to pay the wages or fee that we agreed for Imbula, Wimmer, Berahino. A massive rebuild is required but are we prepared to finance it?
The length of contracts our best paid (non-playing players) are on will just scream QPR at any prospective replacements for the prat that brought these mercenary leeches to the club.
We also need to move on and replace Haugaard, Johnson, Ireland, none of whom would command a fee. Bojan and Muniesa are on a decent wage and Shaq is doing a pretty good impression of a bloke on strike.
No surprise that our top three choices are not interested.
No surprise we’re left with three candidates with as much appeal as Anne Widdocombe in a negligé.

Removing anyone from the Oddschecker list who has odds level or above a Pulis return (shudder!!) @ 40-1 leaves this little list: Cut a few out who've either turned it down or I definitely wouldn't want and I'm left with: Paul Lambert Slaven Bilic (doesn't intend to manage again this season?) Graham Potter R Koeman (not sure he would be interested) Ryan Giggs Slavisa Jokanovic Nigel Pearson Gus Poyet My top 3: 1. Graham Potter 2. Slavisa Jokanovic 3. Ryan Giggs Potter / Giggs would be a massive gamble but if we look at it long term then just maybe it'll work out.
