What the hell does Stokes DNA come into this? It sounds rediclous and it does not create anything other than a clap at the end. Change is always difficult but everyone must now know it’s RUBBISH!! It's RIDICULOUS ! And it’s HOW not What!

Like I said and I will repeat for those who appear to grasp what I am saying. The song is dated and has no relevance.
For that person who says it makes his hairs stand up. That is your preference but I guess it does nothing for the majority of fans.
If you would like me to address questions on justifying my commitment to the club here goes.
Stoke season ticket holder for 20 years. Two of my immediate family have played for Stoke. So I’m not a Vale fan you morons.
This should be a healthy debate and I can see u have some support.
DELIHAH is crap!!

We should play in blue too. Red and white stripes does nothing for the players. Stripes are outdated.

I will leave this thread to decide. Like I have said now in 3 occasions, hurling abuse has no effect. You titled the thread wrongly in the first place. Ask the question, but don't try to tell anyone what to do eh! Thats not abuse or an order by the way, what reaction did you really expect?

Well done sir, a fair few bites from such a simple wind up concept 🎣
I personally would recommend ending a modern equivalent pop song to send some more people over the edge, maybe Ed Sheehan and Beyoncé as they’re number one this week?

Why difference does posting to videos do???
Be open to change. Why would players react to a song that has as much motivation as Stephen Hawkin in a comedy club.
It took us Stoke fans 18 months to see how shit Mark Hughes was. So I maybe me opinions will take his long to make an impact

Agree, Stoke City new era…Delilah’s been done to death, assign it to the history books where it belongs and bring it out for special occasions.
When the players come and the passion returns so will the songs, at the minute there’s nothing and nobody to sing about.

It’s old fashioned not relevant and does not get the atmosphere going. We should stop singing it and have a new song that fires up the atmosphere. Forget about tradition, it’s gets you nothing. DELIHAH is rubbish and it’s about time we say it Stop chatting shit YNWA gets Liverpool nothing, it's just tradition, that's what gives you history.

It's not the best song theme wise: man kills woman for cheating on him, feels sorry and gets nicked. I'm not at the games, so I can't comment on whether its stirring or not.
Alternatives could include 'Swing low sweet chariot' (especially for Arsenal). As we are in a relegation fight, 'Men of Harlech' aka 'Bread of heaven' (think the film Zulu) might work (probably not politically correct and might be too Welsh for the post MH's world). 'We will rock you!' (a bit aspirational at the moment but we can dream).

Right so what next ditch the red and white stripes and change our name to the stoke sharks because what we had in the past isn’t relavent anymore? Quite simply if you don’t want sing it don’t I will I have done since it came onto the terraces and will continue it until I no longer attend. As stated it’s supposed to be our goal celebration or the moment to pull us up from the doldrums. You tell us what’s your answer because unless you’ve got something better I’m going to continue to put my dick in Delilah’s hand every time I’m at a stoke game with gusto and relish and at the right speed as well. So in closing I think is right of me to respond with if you don’t like it fuck off down the vale Good article until you let yourself down with the last sentence. For a club founded in 1863 both "we'll be with you" for the league cup in the 1970's and the more recent Delilah are hardly set in conctete traditions. Things evolve and I fully agree that Delilah is appropriate until something better replaces it. I agree if something else comes along I will join in I belt out we’ll be with you but it’s from before I was born but it’s part of us. We should be expanding not removing from our repertoire, Delilah was born from frustration and anguish and became our cry against it to become our anthem to a vast majority of us fans it was our battle cry against being shit we united in its chorus and shouted the odds like a bunch of welshmen at rourkes drift, it then grew into a thing of beauty under Macaris regime and has become our rallying cry ever since. Admittedly it has waned recently but it’s more to do with perhaps some of the newer fans not being born of the horrors we were subjected to and uniting under its lyrics as TJ climbed the floodlights but as pointed out earlier we it’s right it’s beautiful and intimidating to the opposition and us. Before the original poster started this thread perhaps he should have thought where Delilah came from and what it is to some of us it’s not to be witty or for the players to fawn it’s about them, it’s ours for no other reason than being born from hardship and it known lyrics by the guy who started it and we all joined in at the chorus. I hope more of us feel the same as me it’s our song because it is as a young stokie it moulded my support I will pick it out at karaoke I will sing it when it’s on the radio because no matter what it’s as much a part of stoke to me as the stripes as the Victoria ground as sir Stan and the other greats. We shouldn’t be removing it we should be ever more so now encouraging the newer fans to understand where it came from and what it means. Anyway rant over I’m off put my dick in the wife’s hand see what happens.

How does a song that promotes battering a women belong to the clubs history. If you want to get serious to what the song means then think about it intelligently.
History is Stanley Mathews, Hudson, Stein, Cranston, Waddington & Boothen end. Not a song that lacks passion.

I don’t have all the answers. I just tell tell you what you are already thinking. For those who will start to hurl abuse, do it but ultimately you know I am right. It’s not a don’t that motivates in fact it the reverse. It’s slow and moronic. A really slow, in time, Delilah still makes the hairs on the back of my neck standup. Like the ones at Wembley before Bolton and Man City. Magnificent. My own personal favourite was at Burnden Park after we beat Bolton 1-0 with a Gareth Evans header. At full time we were kept behind and TJ climbed the floodlight pylon to conduct 3500-4000 travelling stokies. It was epic.
