.....but I never got the whole "Go all out for Rafa". For me he hasn't really pulled up any trees at Newcastle this year, I've seen several of their games and tbh they have bored me to death.
Each to their own but I'm glad he hasn't turned up here.

I don't think Rafa Benitez was ever a realistic target for SCFC.

If anything he's stabilised them. Although if he's given a substantial amount of money at Newcastle then I'd imagine he'd go on to do big things with them.

I don't think Rafa Benitez was ever a realistic target for SCFC. Sadly this is the case. Newcastle are very lucky to have him and the way they are messing about could backfire.

I think with a bit of spending money we couldn't go wrong. Lots of experience at a higher level

I would have been happy with Rafa BUT I think he's become tainted by the English way - I am far more excited by the prospect of Flores - even if we drop to the Championship as a result of the damage Hughes has done these past 18 months......

Benitez was worse. 6.3M for Morientes 4.5M for Gonzales 6.0M for Bellendamy 11.5M for Babel 20.3M for Robbie Keane 7.0M for Dossena 8.0M for Riera 18M for Aquilani To name a few. And this was at least 8 years ago. H

There is still a strong possibility Newcastle will be relegated. They have a weak squad, playing above themselves.
There is euphoria on Tyneside because they have won 2 matches and jumped up the table. The reality is, if we had beaten them, they would be in our 18th place on 1 point less. No team in the bottom half of the Prem is remotely safe.

To be fair that squad is the worst in the league.
Still beat us twice of course...

I didn't get the clamour for Rafa either. He was not a realistic target, and anyway I think we are better off with Flores on a long term deal than Rafa on a much shorter one.

Got them back from a very difficult league and surviving with less investment thsn us. I would have loved to see what he would have done with this 5 year project but we are where we are take to sleepwalking owners. That said I really do hope QSF signs, rate him quite a bit.

To be fair that squad is the worst in the league. Still beat us twice of course... Funny how Benitez gets a pass on having a terrible squad when other managers get slated. He's had plenty of time to make it better. All I hear is how he needs money to get better players. Well fuck me doesn't EVERY manager. If he was that good he's improve them regardless.
