Let us not forget that John Prescott and Tony Bliar oversaw an expenditure of £12billion on a NHS computer system that was then scraped as not fit for purpose. A system that wasn’t needed, a system that depleted funds from frontline services that desperately required that amount of funding.

Sorry i couldn't find the other NHS thread.
I work at Mid Cheshire. If you saw all the work men about you would be amazed.
Anyway were getting a new hospital it has been announced because it could fall down.
Its already started because one department has had to move as part of the roof caved in.

So pleased to have being able to build a new house all on my own 😉 OP- In terms of your original question. I'd ban all forms of private health care and absorb there facilities into public ownership. The people in charge of policy will never care unless it affects them. So let's get rid of their private health care lol.

Took me 4.5 years from referral to first appointment and took my dad 6 years

Tbh my first referral was 30 years ago😂 But covid buggered it ( I have to go regularly ) and since then appointments have been a tad irregular. I never complain - not the staff’s fault. Years of crap pay settlements and an erosion of working conditions etc. Shameful.

I’ve had countless appointments cancelled due to excuse after excuse “doctor was off sick or whatever” then had to cancel myself due to as I was working abroad, oooooh they weren’t happy and interrogated me on my reason. Then they cancelled my next appointment due to a junior doctors strike and said they’d be in touch to rearrange another appointment (this has now been going on for over two years and they’ve cancelled at least 6 times). Once again I worked abroad and when I got back there was a letter for an appointment at two days notice. I’d missed it. I then got a letter saying I’d been discharged for failing to show up for the appointment. Fuming at the treatment dished out, a disgrace

My GP Surgery apparently 'needs improvement'. I'd argue that it needs shutting down, and services moved to another Surgery where staff are competent, and give a shit. It's beyond pathetic.

The NHS isn't always good, but it is better than Betamax.
