Maybe im old school and seen to much lower league shit but if people think think we are going to attract a top manager in our current position they need give there head a wobble. I dont like giving Coatesy shit but he should have sacked Hughes 18 months ago we all saw it coming with the signings and performances .Even a month ago we would have been seen as a mid table team with potential. Now which top manager who would want to come. Im happy to right the season off now and bring someone in with championship experience to build and bring us straight back.

I think we can. Sure any out of work Prem manager and loads of lower league managers will apply. But who is good enough?

I’m sorry but 18 months ago was June 16 ish and he had just finished 9th for the third successive time albeit with a slower finish.
We would have been foolish to sack him
A year later in a shit season we missed top ten by a couple of points. He had enough credit in the bank to stay on.
This season has been shit. If he had managed a few results to teams around us we would be mid table and he would deserve to go st end of season. We/he hadn’t and he’s gone. Only a couple of weeks over due really but the correct decision now

We had people queueing up to say Shaqiri, Bojan and many others would not sign for us. At the end of the day we are able to offer wages that all bar a handful of clubs in La Liga, Serie A etc can not afford.
We can literally afford to pay anyone but the top few managers in the world a wage that’d tempt them.

I would think there are some good managers out there who won't shy away from a challenge. Easy is easy. Hard is rewarding.

We're complete pushovers now and the whipping boys of the Premier League. Our defence has more holes than a colander and we're clueless, with players playing out of position, trying to play a system where we don't have enough quality in the key positions, and our transfer dealings have been woeful (to be kind).

Most saw that the straws were being pulled out ages ago and God knows how the marbles didn't fall much sooner. To say he only just deserves to go is the exact closed eyes that the board have been looking with. Sorry but I can't agree that he would ever have deserved to get to the end of the season, no matter how much more convenient that would be. At least now we will find out who is really shit and who has been playing to get him sacked.

Any Manager if offered the right money and contract would become stoke manager because lets face it ,they get a bloody good pay off when they get the sack and then move on to another job just like a few have done already (Pardew)

Outside the regular top 5 or 6 teams, in many respects we must be one of the most attractive propositions in the Premier League.

Oh ye of little faith.
My wife just saw a shot of Pep on MOTD and asked me if I would be satisfied with him.
After further discussion she then claimed she was talking about the other bloke in shot (Dyche).

If I was offered twice as much to do the same job I’m doing now, for a company that was currently doing worse I doubt I’d say no. Just as one example off the top of my head of somebody people would say is ‘impossible’, I think we’d struggle to get Brendan Rodgers for example halfway through the season where trophies and plentiful job opportunities are waiting for him come May, but we could certainly offer him a wage that would seriously tempt him. Hopefully the club has the ambition to go for someone that’d make a statement to the players, fans and media that they want to get back to being a good solid Premier League team again.

Yes I think a lot of managers of the calibre of Dyche, Moyes, Rowett, maybe even Rodgers would like to work for Stoke City and the Coates family. Shame that the timing to get one of them is all wrong.

We’ve missed the two recognised firefighters in Sam and Pulis, the old hands of Moyes and the new wave of Silva.
Apart from MON I don’t see what’s realistically left.
