In fairness, his overall record with us was very good. Took us from a team playing turgid football and threatened by relegation to a top ten outfit playing decent nogger, all in a single season and with a modest budget. Improved us further in the second season, secured a second top half finish culminating in that 6-1 demolition of Liverpool. And in the first half of his third season we saw arguably the best football we have seen from a Stoke side in the Prem when Arnie, Bojan and Shaq all hit form at the same time. Epic performance at Anfield in that semi-final and since then it has all been down hill. Unfortunate that it has ended this way, but many of the decisions he has made over the past 18 months have been rather strange and this is a mess of his own creation. Thanks for the good times but definitely time for a change. Took us from a team playing turgid football but not in danger of relegation to a bottom 3 team playing turgid dross that was humiliated by a 4th tier team in the FA cup. Gouranga. Took us from a team playing turgid football but not in danger of relegation ,thats because we got rid before he did .

You gave me hope that there was a possibility of entertainment after the Toxic twat drained the definition of entertainment out of the dictionary
Unfortunately, you made a massive hash brown of it and ultimately you've monumentally fucked up our club in the process.

We were in danger of relegation under Pulis that last season, thats why he went. He left at the end of the season and guess what we were safe. He was sacked because over 2k people didn't renew their ST mostly because of the shite football on offer but I have to say this last season and a half has been as bad if not worse than anything we were dished up under Pulis. Gouranga.

Lower in the league than when you arrived. Awful in the cups. A much bigger wage bill.Lots of very well paid, totally mediocre, unfit footballers with piss poor attitudes on long contracts.
Thanks Mark (and the team).

He gave us some great football, he gave us Bojan, Shaquiri and Arnie.
Then he gave us some dire football, Wilfried Bony, Berahinho and Kevin fucking Wimmer.
I have some good memories but the last 23.months have pretty much erased them.

You took all of the recent flak thrown at you on the chin. A lot of other managers would have run and hidden. In a perfect world you, or The Club, should have made the decision to part company at the end of last season. Thanks for some really good times, but this decision will hopefully do both parties the world of good.

His Stoke City story was a game of two halves. Sure, the second half was a turgid, disorganized mess and will be remembered for the far too regular drubbings at hands of the big boys.
With that said, let's not rewrite history and forget that the first half was a breath of fresh air and we were treated to some of the best football we've seen from Stoke in living memory. The 6-1 annihilation of the scousers to ruin Gerrard's farewell party. Taking Arsenal apart and going into half time with a 3-0 (should have been 4-0) lead. Somewhat fortunately beating Manchester City at the Etihad with that unforgettable Diouf goal, and then absolutely outclassing them at our place with the "BMX' frontline at it's absolute peak. Several wins over Chelsea, including that sensational last-minute winner from Assaidi. Beating Spurs at White Hart Lane courtesy of a magical goal from the little Catalan genius, and getting our first Premie League win against the shit.
I wish it could have ended differently, but sincere thanks for some outstanding and cherished memories, Mr. Hughes.

....and we thought Marc Wilson was joking........... Doesn’t look like it does it because the defence are a shambles Didn't Wilson (admittedly one of the poorest defenders to represent us - aside from Wimmer) say that we never practiced defending at all in training when he left?

....and we thought Marc Wilson was joking........... Doesn’t look like it does it because the defence are a shambles I sum it up in the following phrase ‘you lost your spark’. Thanks for the memories Mr Hughes but you’ve left the club in a mess, albeit not all of your own making. I hope you learn from your time at Stoke.
