Bojan, the next Messi, failing at Stoke and on loan. Imbula, Porto’s 20 million Euro signing, failed at Stoke and on loan. Berahino, plenty of opportunity to shine, failing at Stoke City. Shawcross, raw untapped talent turning into rawer, untapped talent. The starting eleven, playing each game like a testimonial.
Are these failings in part due to a lack of motivation? Perhaps it’s not too late to set new challenges for the remaining games.
Has complacency spoiled them or can the current management team motivate them? I think we’ll just about do it.

Bojan was our second top scorer in the last season where he started more than two games in a row. Imbula has his faults but has massive talent. Barely played last year despite good showings and needing midfield drive. Berahino has looked good this season despite only starting 3 games, none of which consecutive. Shawcross is captain of the club and is still the best defender we have having seen Zouma's recent form. The starting eleven are being told to sit deep and lump it to a stationary beanpole, and are given what seems like no defensive training whatsoever. The management aren't utilising them correctly, there are issues in the squad (defensive midfield mostly), but if we played to our strengths, tried to attack and keep the ball rather than parking the bus and hoofing it to Crouch, we'd be far better off.

Bring Carniero back, I say Ryan’s back problems started when Pulis was here, nobody’s fault it’s just one of them things. Pretty sure Pulis even made him go the dentist to try cure it

Having read this article from a Bet365 employee it makes you wonder if some of the issues are endemic in financially rich structures.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Bet365 Reviews/Glassdoor Doesn't Recommend Negative Outlook No opinion of CEO I have been working at Bet365 full-time (Less than a year)
Pros
Good salary for area, lovely working environment, free gym. Great experience using the latest technology.
Cons
Team Leaders clearly not qualified or able to cope with the role, with training courses being provided for them only recently in order for them to handle the simple day-to-day tasks. Very top-heavy structure with hardly any engineers and far too many senior engineers, managers and team leaders. No room for growth any more despite more staff being looked for and desks already shrinking in order to fit people in. Ridiculous parking situation means you need to add another hour or two to your day in order to secure a space and queue to get out. Far too many people, not enough space anywhere. Feedback on issues ignored, preferential treatment given to some staff, 30 minute lunch break, no flexibility in working hours. A heavy focus on your failures and a complete ignorance on any achievements you have made. No work life balance. Treated like a number. Expect to get there at 8AM to park and leave after 6PM with just 30 minutes break. Show Less
Advice to Management
Make changes. You are ignoring and demotivating very talented staff whilst rewarding and promoting people who are incapable. Stop promoting those who are friends with management.

Bojan was becoming a special player for us before his injury. Imbula was a terrible signing and has obviously had attitude problems for a long time. We should have smelt the rat when Porto allowed us to buy him only 6 months after he signed for them. Berahino has been played in a system that even the most clinical strikers would struggle to score in. Still not seen enough of him in a suitable system to judge him fairly. Shawcross doesn’t look demotivated he’s just broken.

Bojan was already in trouble career wise well before he got here, hence the price...... Imbula was bad business and his attitude problems had already surfaced before we got him, Berahino had been failing for well over a year before we bought him and Shawcross was brilliant for us for a few seasons before he got injured. I sort of understand your point although it's clearly lack of good management rather than motivation that is our problem.

We will see a different team under a new manager.
Indeed any decent manager will create a team not the current bedraggled set of individuals who look like they have never met before.

I think you’re on to something with the lack of motivation It’s when they realised that the club looking to build the team on the cheap by ramming all those kids in instead of making quality signings

He bought the player. He didn’t develop him. He trained, he’s been in contact for months, he scored and put Liverpool through to the next round. You don’t think Klopp motivated or guided him?

Hughes’ comments in Sentinel re today:
““We keep talking about momentum. Momentum changes outside the game and outside the club, but it changes within the 90 minutes as well.
“When the home crowd is getting a bit of momentum, you’ve got to be good at recognising it early enough and just nip it in the bud.”
What on earth is all that about? His idea of motivation seems to be focused on keeping the fans quiet! What about using it to get your players to step up a gear (make that 3 gears), pull their fingers out, and achieve something? Whilst he’s about, perhaps he should pull his own finger out - deliver or ship out - pronto!

To be fair, the likes of Bojan and Imbula seem to be failing everywhere, theyve hardly set the world alight at their current clubs. Its down to our transfer Policy again ie picking up sick and lame players and trying to make them world beaters, keep saying it, we need to buy players who are fit and raring to go.

He scored a game winning goal last night but it remains to be seen if Klopp gets the best out of him defensively. After just one game it's impossible to know but he's there to do a defensive job and scoring important goals will no doubt just be a bonus. Kind of like the great Robert Huth who was sold by Hughes, but who knows why? Klopp is, none the less, a great attacking coach but his defences have proven to be somewhat leaky!
