Giggs that is, not Skywalker

Surprised not to see Gerry Francis on that list. I'm sure I saw Gerry and the Pacemakers at 4 -1, coming by ferry apparently

Giggs with an accomplished #2.
We could handle that. There's a top manager in there.

Zero personality and seems about a big a bonehead as you will ever see (I was going to say 'come across' instead of 'see' but I knew that would be I would be opening myself up to be hammered.... oh dear, ive done it anyway!) genuinely GENUINELY don't understand why people think he will make a manager.

Unknown quantity probably has most people put off, which is understandable, but to suggest he is a bonehead is a bit unrealistic unless you're talking about past personal stuff he's been involved in publicly. In terms of football, I'd bet he has a wealth of experience and information he could help our club and players out with, based on from who he's been working under and with for donkeys years. The best of the best. I'd be intrigued to see. I can't say anything other because he hasn't had a chance to prove himself yet but I do believe he will be a good Premier League manager when the time comes. There's just something about him for me. There's a few names I would like to see managing Stoke at the moment though.

Great player, yes, but manager I just don't see it. Gary Neville had the same schooling but people mock the idea of him as a manager now and he has always struck me as much more likely make a manager than Giggs.

There is no way on this earth a Premier League team would appoint someone like Giggs without any experience.
The only way it might happen was if one of the owner's family was a big Man Utd fan and they had maybe previously employed Man Utd legends...

Giggs says:
"Every day it gets a bit more difficult with the climate of coaching appointments. I've grown up with the ethos of building something and that seems to have gone out of the window."

I'd rather keep Hughes than take a total flier on Giggs. No Prem club would be that daft. What I could see Coates doing if he does get rid of Hughes is get say giggs with an experienced number 2 alongside as suggested by a former player a week or so ago, until the summer then giggs would have all summer either with his new team around him or keep the experience for a bit. Certainly fits into the british, as giggs says 'build something' type who could certainly keep the attracting players part going. When you're going for a player with all those clubs around us, he would certainly give us that edge to help sway them to us, which when going against half the premier league, certainly helps.

You don't bring in a complete rookie when you're in a relegation battle though.
Giggs has done nothing, absolutely nothing.
Maybe a mid table championship side might want to take a flier one summer on such a 'build something' project but not a Premiership side fighting for it's life in January.

Come on get real everyone. Giggs?
Whose the chairman again?
Huge huge doubts (in fact an absolute certainty) Coates wouldn't appoint proven quality managers from abroad or up and coming managers from the Championship (like Rowett), he will ONLY appoint a manager with Premier League management experience and would prefer British (& out of work or very cheap to get out of current job).
The idea he would appoint an absolute rookie is preposterous.
