Only one viable option (IMO)
Ronald McDonald Koeman
Not for me right now. He’s a total unknown in this situation. 100% in the summer but not now. Or even a younger manager in the summer with new and fresh ideas. For me we need to approach Martin O’Neil as an interim until the end of the season. Maybe even with Keane. This would allow him to continue at RI as well. At least we’d see some organisation and fight which we are definitely going to need for the remainder of the season.

talksport.com/radio/listen-again/1514872800About 20 minutes into the 0630-0700 segment. "I think there's every chance (of him going). I haven't had assurances from the powers-that-be that he'll be in charge at the weekend, so things are up in the air at the moment" What, like what colour tie Coates is going to wear today? Everybody needs to get it through their heads, Hughes ain’t going anywhere. Coates didn’t sack Pulis, Pulis left because of the structural changes which Coates either agrees with or has no authority to change. Hughes will work under these conditions and is happy to collect his salary. I guarantee Hughes has had very little input into the recruitment of players, and unless the whole lot go nothing will change. How can you ‘guarantee’ that? That’s not how these structures work, why are you so sure it’s different here? The vast majority if not all of the signings have Hughes’ fingerprints all over them.

I suspect the only one recently that wasn't a Hughes signing was probably Ramadan.

Not sure what to make of that. I conclude they are somehow (unfathomably) surprised to be where we are and are starting to panic. I believe that no feelers have been put out and we are massively behind where we should be in appointing a new man. Utterly pathetic really. Yet completely predictable with this club.

To think some of us laughed at the idea of Hodgson, Moyes or Allardyce taking over.....

Martin O'Neill - with or without his Ireland number two Roy Keane - is not a name to be ignored.
Bloody hell. Grapey, I see you follow this very closely, but I cant recall seeing your preferred choice. I am interested to know if you had to name 1 person who you deem attainable and realistic, who would it be mate?

Shortage of candidates? There wasn't a Month ago when the board failed to Act! I want Scholes and cartwright gone too.

I'm inspired by every suggestion, as long as it means we have someone else in charge for the Cov game.

Gun to my head, and trying to keep them Coates-realistic, I'd go for Pearson. The thought of Martin O'Neill fills me with absolute dread.

I don't think O'Neill would be a bad shout. Seems like someone who would get the players motivated, a man manager - there are a few decent players in the group, it's just about picking them in the right positions. Obviously Keane brings an air of "nutcase" with him so anyone shirking their responsibilities will be told in no uncertain terms. There are certainly worse options out there (& in situ).

If it’s a straight choice I’d rather MON without Keane than with him.

I fully expect one last roll of the dice, the board to stand by Hughes and throw money at the January window (which he'll waste ....again).
I pray to fuck I'm wrong.

If it’s a straight choice I’d rather MON without Keane than with him. Definitely. I'd prefer MON over Hughes at this moment - but really think MON is a busted flush - a man completely out of time. But I would be very fearful if that imbecile Keane came with him

Unbelievable. Absolute scandalous dereliction of duty from the board. This hasn't been a sudden downturn in form this has been coming for nearly two years and now they're a bit disappointed with what's available. Absolutely fucking useless, Coates.

Don't think Spinks has been given a steer there though but rather he's just narrowing down the options using the same criteria as we have done on here.

If the club are considering a short term contract (end of season) Karanka actually makes a bit of sense. We have to stop the goals from pouring in at the current rate or else relegation is a certainty and he would do that.

I'm not a fan of Keane either. But I think someone like that shaking up the dressing room is exactly what we need right now.

Everybody knows TP was sacked Dave, but didn’t the club dress it up as "by mutual agreement"? Most of our managers are sacked by mutual consent.

We need a clean sweep & a duo not o Neil on his own scratching for staff. Keane will be useful he'll no doubt tell players how it is
