A bizarre phrase from the attached article: “Adam, a fixture in the Stoke side since he joined from Liverpool in 2012”.

Looks like it's Charlie's turn this week to come out in support of Hughes.

Well Charlie, perhaps if you didn't try something above your skill level then you wouldn't have got that reaction.
I'm sick of players coming out in the media and trotting out this kind of bullshit. PERFORM ON THE PITCH TOSSERS.

It’s a shame (not Charlie) that the players don’t show the same fight for their manager when they get on the pitch. We’ve had loads of these comments this year before games and then we get another gutless flat performance.

Charlie joined from Liverpool in 2012 and has played almost 160 times averaging 30 games a season up to the start of current season.. Don’t get your reasoning mate

Don’t get your reasoning mate but how many as a sub ? Not sure as statistics taken from wiki. But nevertheless, in my opinion, he has been a fixture at the club both on and off the field. Think hchpotter is being a bit dramatic in his statement.

I'm surprised we're not winning every game 4 nil with the amount of our squad that love the manager and worship the ground he walks on.
There is a disconnect somewhere in my mind between what I read from our players on a weekly basis and what I see on a matchday.

I don't think they are giving it 100% for the manager, no. They are not going out to throw a game for him, but they are not fully at it. Shaqiri is the worst no doubt. A lot of the mistakes they are making are a bit beyond coaching, but in that yes, they are running around a bit. It's a bit more complex than your original question.

Charlie along with a couple of others who have experienced this before are best placed to make an impact. He was mom yesterday imo, yes his mistake gave them the opportunity to break and score - but no lack of effort on his part

There certainly looks to me like a majority of players who display zero confidence in what the manager is asking them to do. That lack of confidence will almost certainly result in a drop in effort.

Hughes has left us with two or three that are equipped for this relegation battle and Charlie is one.

I don't think we should be resting our hopes on a player than can't play a full 90 minutes.

Well Charlie's not the fittest anyway, but any player who hasn't made much contribution all season is bound to tire late in a game when he's brought into the team around New Year. It's another failure of Hughes. He's flogged Fletcher half to death and hasn't involved other players to the point that they're unlikely to be able to make much of a meaningful contribution.

Shaqiri aside, do you really see a lack of effort from the team? I don't think they are giving it 100% for the manager, no. They are not going out to throw a game for him, but they are not fully at it. Shaqiri is the worst no doubt. A lot of the mistakes they are making are a bit beyond coaching, but in that yes, they are running around a bit. It's a bit more complex than your original question. Whilst Mr Shaqiri may well have the hump with his manager and probably his colleagues, I genuinely don't think the team aren't playing for the manager. I think they are giving it their very best effort but put quite simply and brutally, they aren't good enough as a collective unit. The decent players we have, and we do have some, are having to carry too many passengers, hence we are seemingly being punished for mistakes because we are making quite a few of them. I could understand the criticism of players having no confidence in what they are being asked to do if we were persisting with 3 at the back but that isn't the case. For the most part, injuries dictating, we are playing players in their preferred positions or at least positions they are familiar with, and we are having a go. As much as we picked up only a point at Huddersfield on Boxing Day and lost yesterday, we could quite easily have won them both. We could quite easily have lost both as well and much the same is true of WBA. It really is fine margins but ultimately, the fact that we simply aren't good enough, means those fine margins go against us more often than they go for us. Reference yesterday's team, the only controversial selection was that of Crouch in reality. I'm not really sure what else he could have done in terms of the starting 11. The subs are a different matter.

They all keep getting rolled out one by one, who will be this week, Eric or Erik again?
At least Charlie shows passion on the pitch, something a few of them have lacked lately.

I'm sick and tired of these social media posts wanking on about how together they are and behind the manager. They look clueless on the pitch and are bitching at each other on a regular basis.
Charlie talks of characters in the dressing room. I think we lost three of our biggest characters in the summer with Whelan, Walters and Bardsley, I can't really think who is left apart from Charlie and Crouch who I would consider characters.

The fact that Hughes has transformed the club , is why the fans want him out
