‘We don’t play for the manager we play for Stoke City which is most important but the manager tells us what to do’ Shaqiri has actually come out and said that?!.. fucking hell. He either knows Hughes is a goner or more likely Shaqiri knows he's going. There's no way he'd come out with that if not surely?.. his English is pretty good so can't be lost in translation. He said that in a Sky interview I saw this morning

I don't blame him. Wasn't the journo talking about his Chelsea selection?? We all know why he played the team at Chelsea. The point is the Chelsea team selection is only justified if we got a result today, we didn't. He doubled down and lost. Correct, he had teed it up, shit or bust.

In truth, Shaqiri plays only for himself, normally when it suits him to do so

It is time for a change. Once things get this far, it isn't often that they recover for good, for long. The game today wasn't as bad as people are making out. My assessment would be "Unlucky to lose that one". Their goal keeper won it for em. What about thier other chances they should have put away. Open goal!

I heard his comments while listening to Radio 5. Can't fault him. He sounds like he was taking no shit from journos...especially those asking questions about his Chelsea selection. Fair play to him. Clearly feeling the pressure.

Clearly feeling the pressure. For my point I couldn't care less on the Chelsea team selection. The performance today is all that he should be judged on.

Hughes doing what he has done throughout his managerial career - ok for a couple of seasons followed by rapid declines with no idea how to turn things around - only Citeh have escaped the dire consequences - the rest are where we are going.........

He's under real pressure, he knows he's lost the fans and now Shaq's comments would appear to show he's no longer got the players support either. Storming out of the press conference is only going to make matters worse. It should be only a matter of hours until he's sacked (at almost any other club anyway) but we are assuming Coates and Co are even considering that there is a problem. The fans won't let up now, we've turned almost totally and will jump on each and every opportunity to show our anger and frustration at what is happening at our beloved club. He can't (shouldn't/mustn't) be allowed to stay as manager any longer. Or that shaq doesn't have the support of his teammates or manager? So why does he pick him ?

As bad as we are, why do we have fans who just make shit up? He took over Blackburn when they were struggling, got them into Europe and in his last season they finished 7th. He took over Fulham who had just finished 12th, stayed for 1 season and left with them 8th. The only club he left who were struggling was QPR. Fucks sake.

The seeds were sown though - you'll be giving it the "3 ninth place finishes" next - he's a malign influence and his on-paper record flatters to deceive - limited ability as a manager - mediocre at best and we got lumbered with him.......unfortunately, and now we're paying the price of his ineptitude.......

So he improves Blackburn and Fulham, gets no credit for it but after he's gone he's at fault for their future decline? OK. The 9th place finishes are in the past, and have no bearing on the present. I want him gone as much as you, I just don't need to make shit up about how bad he was for Blackburn and Fulham when he clearly wasn't.

His only purple patch over a decade since and more to do with Uncle Jacks legacy than all his own work - Sacked by Citeh after pissing 10s of millions up,the wall, a short and inauspicious and fractious spell at Fulham where he just left them in the lurch and a clusterfuck at QPR - again spunking £ms on bizarre signings. Then on to us - more of the same - some decent spells and signings but then all unravels as it always does for him - I'm sure he's a nice bloke but he's not a very good manager ......

Progress in my time here? Utter bullshit. Pulis was never this low in the table in January. The Shaq interview on Sky was very telling and lots to read between the lines. He for one clearly does not want to playe for Hughes. Who does he want to play for. not Hughes or 25k fans

He said that in a Sky interview I saw this morning If he said it before it's almost worse given that he went on to neither play for stoke city or his manager. In truth, Shaqiri plays only for himself, normally when it suits him to do so Almost all players in the top flight are in it for themselves, no loyalty like years ago. I feel sorry for young un's who get attached to players who don't stay long. My lad had Arnie printed on back of shirt, also has Shaq and Jack and they may well be off too.
