In all seriousness now, I may have posted an idiotic and farcical idea to throw pies onto the pitch before the game BUT now is time to reflect on this afternoons performance and our football club currently with a more serious approach.
I am finding it difficult to put it into words after watching that today. The performance from head to toe was NOTHING, just nothing. It wasn’t even bad, being bad is something but we weren’t even worthy of that accolade today. We look absolutely devoid of any plan, there’s no system, no playing style, no identity, no fight, no passion, no feeling, no care. Physically and metaphorically non existent. Everything that makes me proud to support this club is diminishing fast, it’s truly embarrassing that this can be allowed to continue. As a life time Stoke City fan I want to be able to make a difference, I can’t bare the thought of us disappearing into the abyss a la Charlton, a la Portsmouth. Being relegated is one thing but dropping off the edge of a cliff like we have done is another, not even a half arsed cry on the way down, no nails lost trying to clamber our way back up the rock face.
WHAT THE FUCK HAS HAPPENED?
I’ve never felt this way since I supported the club. I can’t remember ever leaving the stadium and seeing so many empty face, over hearing so many conversations of people that are past caring. I can’t blame a single one of you, that’s exactly how this circus has made me feel too, I can’t bare to think of all the money that’s been wasted on tickets, travel, days out, all for nothing, zero in return. It would actually be more fun setting fire to you money and watching the flames as it turns to ashes.
Please Mr Coates. Give us all a chance, we’ll struggle to make a fight of it under new management never mind under the current. Let’s have a go, let’s kick, swear and fight for the cause. Now is not the time to be passive, one day we’ll wake up and the dream will be over, the lower leagues beckons.
This club is for us, the fans, but we can’t do it without your help Peter. Give us a fighting chance.

How did the pie throwing event, that you organised, go? I can't say that actually saw any thrown pies.

It was too farcical to ever be thought about to be honest.

It was too farcical to ever be thought about to be honest. But you posted it anyway? That’s a different thread mate. It was half a joke and half delirium. It seems you have chosen to completely ignore what I’ve said above.

Well after your last thread about the pies, I thought it best. I’ve got over however many posts on this message board and have been posting here for a long time. Most of what I post is well thought out, well reasoned and a structured contribution to this message board. If you’re going to judge me and get hung up on a half arsed, joke of a post with a metaphoric message that we as fans need to do all we can to kick Peter Coates into shape then that’s cool with me.

Pies with no chips was always a non starter to be fair. That's just not Wrights.
Saw a teams fans throwing teddy bears for charity before a game.
They used to throw bog rolls in my day but I doubt that would get us out of the shit we're in at the moment.

I'm sure Peter Coates thought this self sufficiency idea would be a good idea for the legacy of the club, but all he had to do was look at a massive club like Manchester United as an example, who get the biggest sponsors etc. Now there is a reason that their owners don't want self sufficiency, because it doesn't fucking work in football and even less so if you want to win something. In essence it's a wank idea. Then we have Hughesy who has fucking imploded over the past two years after he got rid of that fucking horrible 'Pulis Hoofball' tag and got people taking about us in so much better terms , the likes of 'Stokealona', the twatting of the Scousers, getting predictions of European berths from pundits, making us proud again. Then he went fucking mental!
Fuck knows what is going on behind the scenes , but it isn't fucking great quite obviously.

It looks like storming the waddo is the only option left.

It looks like storming the waddo is the only option left. I bet there’s a few who’d rather do that than throw a few pies onto the pitch. I’d much rather extreme lunacy and uncomprhendable madness than any sort of violence. Unless we just custard pie Peter Coates once we’re in there.

Can’t say I like it or agree with it but ambition in 2018 is defined by how much you’re willing to spend and ultimately how much debt you’re willing to go into. In the build up to Anfield away in the cup I thought we were on the cusp of great things, we were playing some great football and looked like seriously pushing into that top 8. Then like you say we just capitulated out of nowhere, then made some astronomical mistakes in the transfer market. I know this isn’t all Mark Hughes’s fault and there are deeper rooted problems but first and foremost in footballing and business terms our focus has got to be staying in the premier league and the only hope we’ve got right now is a change of manager.

I worry we will do a Leeds and plummet like a stone. That’s my worry too and as committed and loyal fans we should never have to feel powerless or helpless. We shouldn’t even be anywhere near a situation where we feel the need to prove how shit we’ve been for the last 2 years.
