Charlie says: I was surprised at Mark Hughes' comments at the start of the season suggesting this was his strongest group. He's been under pressure again but handled it quite well and they've got too much quality to be involved in a relegation battle. I think Ryan Shawcross seems like he's starting to break down so a replacement is probably required for him, while Bruno Martins-Indi and Kevin Wimmer haven't really been up for the job. A more natural right-back would help them as well. They've spent a lot of money on their midfield but Xherdan Shaqiri is inconsistent and Ibrahim Afellay always seems to be injured, so they need a bit more cover in midfield. Saido Berahino has been a nightmare so they need a replacement for him, while they could do with somebody to play off the left of the striker. If I were Mark Hughes I'd be asking for more funds as it feels like they're just trying to get through this season. The crowd are getting frustrated, looking at Burnley and asking why they're not doing that after the money they've spent over the last couple of seasons. www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/11190039/what-each-premier-league-team-needs-in-the-january-transfer-window

These guys clearly don't watch us. We need cover in midfield? No, we need a midfield.

The day I start taking notice of people like him will be the day I give up!. That goes for the other three Muppets who sit alongside him.

So he thinks BMI isn't up to the job? We've hardly been able to play him.

Mostly right but nobody seems to see the full back issue

" ...... they've got too much quality to be involved in a relegation battle. " Is he sure about that? I wish I was. Bit strange how he then, quite rightly, says we basically need a new defence, midfield and attack force....... somewhat contradictory.

I’d argue BMI is up to the job....he’s hardly played The only consistent thing is that these pundits know Jack shit about what they are commenting on and there isn't a single one of them that comments with any real knowledge at all about our club.

Whenever anyone on here showed concern at the lack of activity last transfer window there was always a large group of posters on here quick to criticise any negative comments. The window didnt finish yet, it is shrewd business, self sufficiency, etc, etc. If the small time stoke mentality doesnt change this is the result, we have to spend and spend big this January. We have let the squad fall to pieces, we now need a massive overhaul.

So we need players in defence, midfield and attack then? Wonderful news. Time for our crack Transfer team to save us yet again!
