Guirane N’Daw’s agent has exclusively told setantasports.com that the Sochaux ace has not been officially approached by Stoke City.
The athletic midfielder has been linked to The Potters, as the promoted side are trying to build a competitive team for the next Premier League season.
Senegal international N’Daw is believed to be a target, having impressed in the French league in the last two seasons with Les Lionceaux.
His agent Franck Meuillet has dismissed reports from the domestic press saying that the 24-year-old, who is allowed to move on by his employers subject to a suitable offer being made, is about to move to the Britannia Stadium.
“No, there is nothing concrete with Stoke or with whoever in whatever country, it is too early to speak about Guirane’s future,” Meuillet told setantasports.com.

From Wikipedia:
Guirane N'Daw (born 24 April 1984 in Rufisque) is a Senegalese football midfielder, currently playing for Sochaux.
He has been linked with a £3million summer move to ] , Celtic. He has also been linked with French champions Olympique Lyonnais. However Sochaux have repeatedly stated that he is not for sale. Recently, 2008 UEFA Cup finalists, Rangers have been linked with the player although at £3m that is well above their budget.

L'Equipe translation:
The defensive middle of Sochaux, Guiranne NDaw, would be close to get involved with the English club of Stoke City, promoted in Premier League. The international Senegalese, 24 years, competed for 30 matches of L1 this season and inscribed three purposes. It acquired a check of exit on behalf of his leaders. - E. T.

'not been officially approached by Stoke City' is the key - old Tone is obviously considering him!

Agents often say stuff like that to try to alert other clubs of the players availability. A bidding war between a few clubs means more spondoolicks in the agents arse pocket

Seems to be a fair bit of interest in him. Everton are mntioned, along with Lyon, Marseille and St Etienne.
N'Daw goal last month
He seems to be a defensive, holding midfielder

tinyurl.com/45v3lo Sochaux forum on N'Daw The match yesterday has yet demonstrated that the future of Guirane did not draw the midfield, but indeed in central defence.
Three times in the second half, his wrong choices have caused as many dangers to the goals of Richert.
Yes N'Daw is a good central defender, all the experience he accumulated in the game in midfield will make him a monster when he goes back to position that puts most value
His lack of alertness is also disadvantageous for a position in the entrejeu where decisions must be as rapid as their application in stride.
Ben voilà, it is the key to his problem in this position, and partly that of the side when he plays.
Problem: Alertness is not a quality that improves with time and given his clearance this deficiency is not surprising.
By contrast, het has almost all the characteristics which may make it an excellent central defender
It will we miss most combativeness. All in all circumstances and always a good contact with supporters, although this season it was a picture of the workforce more distant.
We found the true N'Daw last night, the one that aroused my admiration in previous years. Shit, I think I'll eventually regret his departure. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif ) (IMG: style_emoticons / default / sad.gif)
It seems to me that this is the city of "naughty forty." Une bonne vieille vraie firm anglaise...ça peut aider. A good old english firm true ... it can help.
Ben play in maintaining the championships in France or the English championship, with a salary plus what is more important. De plus Guirane a un jeu qui ira bien chez les rosbifs. In addition Guirane has a game that will go down well in rosbifs.
Choice of career quite ridiculous. And if it fails there will be no club L1 not want to buy it, it will end up with a meager salary in L2.
By against Sochaux for this is a good case because his potential earned him a high price, is not commensurate with its contribution on the ground, therefore it is a winner in the exchange.

Looks like Nantes are interested too? www.20minutes.fr/article/230872/Sport-N-Daw-dans-le-viseur.phpN'Daw in sight 15 May
A lion cub in the Canaries? The Nantes leaders seek “a sentinel”, a very physical player able to play in front of defense. According to our information, Sochalien Guirane N' Daw would be thus in small papers of the FCN. This 24 year old Senegalese - with whom it remains one year of contract in Doubs - disputed more than 100 matches in L1 and corresponds to the profile. It can in addition evolve/move at the station of side left and in central defense. The chief technical officer Christian Larièpe confirmed he followed this midfielder.
"He is a good player, smiled the Nantes person in charge.
"But, heis expensive…” Many French clubs and foreigners follow him ,indicated his agent Pierre Frelot to us. The first of which l' OM, Monaco and Everton

It's a bit bizarre, but fan-bloody-tastic, to be involved in a possible transfer fight with Monaco and Marseille. Monaco on N'Daw? The interest of Monegasque recruiters for players from the training centre Sochalien does not seem over
. Indeed, after coming from Meriem, Monsoreau and Ménez, the club now seems to consider the arrival of Guirane N'Daw
The player (23 years, 27 matches L1, 2 goals this season) would have been supervised by emissaries of ASM at Lens-Sochaux (3-2).
This robust boy (1m90, 78kg), whose contract expires in June 2009, interested red and whiterecruiters because of his slaughter but also his versatility (he can play defensive middle defender central defender or left side)
No contact has yet been made, but the ASM, if it tried to make this arrival, is expected to rub the competition from Marseilles (which has expressed its interest in its sporting director, Jose Anigo), Le Mans, which had tried to recruit him this winter and had suffered the refusal of President sochalien; and even Lyon, who were for a time interested last summer.
Case to follow ... ..

That's just the best use of translation software I've seen yet:
30 matches and "inscribed three purposes"
Brilliant!
