Resting players for a difficult league game in the hope of winning the next one? What is it with the people who can't see that as anything other than utter, retrograde, negativity-breeding management? IT'S FKING BULLSHIT. It’s entirely sensible and every good manager does it Does a good manager also send his team out already defeated?? Walking out totally deflated and totally unfit?

Has took ownership for team selection today and put his eggs in basket for a result Monday- let's judge again Monday evening - In sparky we trust What I want him to take ownership of is his shite transfer policy, is it right that we have 1 left-back at the club and in his words not mine, no obvious replacement for him when he gets injured - why? Is it right that he started the season with no obvious right-back, pinning all his hopes on his centre-forward coming good, playing Russian roulette again like he did last year with the lack of centre-halves and only 1 viable goal-keeper. When he realised Diouf was a liability he stated that it was always his intention to let Edwards have a crack at the right-back position this season, what a load of bollox - he hates youth, he is hanging his youngsters out to dry at the moment and destroying their confidence, playing them in surrender games. In any case today his defence consisted of HIS prefered right-back and the player that will also take on Newcastle(Edwards), an 18 million pound centre-half, and Englands finest goal-keeper(apparently) and he has played Cameron in the centre before and I seem to remember him saying that was his best position. It was hardly a make-shift defence as he was trying to make out, with 4 players that would not have played had there been no injuries, 2 of that back four will be starting against Newcastle even if others are fit. We have now conceded over 70 goals in both of the last calendar years, 46 goals this season which I believe is not just the highest in the prem but also the highest in Europes top 5 divisions, players stating they are giving up because they know they are going to make more mistakes during the game. I have just gone in to read the report of the game on the BBC website and the headlines read, "Sorry Stoke Thrashed Again" I admire your resolve in backing Sparky, but he should have gone a while ago and he is destroying our club and unlike you, I have lost all trust in him

Okay, they got dicked at Old Trafford, but that now means their 3 inform players are now rested and raring to go against Palace? Oh ... Hang a min? What a fucking crock.

Yes...Injuries are not under hughes' control hold on a second - it wasn't simply 'injuries' that meant we made 6 change FFS No it was a game 2 days after....plus injuries plus crouch and allen close to not playing because of injuries

We have seen this before under Pulis.. Valencia away, took a weakened team there because we had an important home game against Swansea and we were desperate for three points....so something's never change for the fans...let's hope for the same outcome for this manager......

Southampton Have got palace in the week. How dare they go old Trafford and get a point!! Don’t they realise your supposed to get a right royal shafting and concentrate on the midweek game!!! Beat me to it. Soton sold their best defender and still played like they cared. Why we even bothered suit up is beyond me. Hughes's motivational skills are clearly non-existent. He’s not going to quit because he knows he’ll never get a top job again after his displays of the past 18 months. How much longer do we have to put up with this garbage?

I don't think many people should have been surprised at todays selection.

In the interests of fairness it should be pointed out that Southampton have an extra day off before their next match.

What are you entrusting him to do? "Turn it around"?
He's failed to do that for the last 18 months. We've been bumbling around and now the shit has finally hit the fan.
