Boxing Day. Football. Drama. Two unbeaten. Overhead kick from Chopper, ref checks tech. Nope. Get pissed. Enjoy not destroy. Even champions have to grind a few. Keep taking the Seroxat mate - it's working Never chemicals bud.

Makes you wonder when we will ever be able to win another away game, when we struggle in games like this. Huddersfield were so wide open. They were set up so wrong, they were asking for it. I can't believe what a soft touch we are and our midfield is a fucking shambles

I personally think we've been desperately unlucky and far the best side Unlucky yes but not "far" best side by any means ............but at only one down we can deffo get something from this game as these are not Man City No but they beat the shit 2-0 so a point on reflection is a good one.

I thought we played better today although not well. Huddersfield press hard and didn't let us play but we had enough chances to win it: www.skysports.com/football/huddsfld-vs-stoke/stats/373290How fit are our players? Many looked knackered including Diouf after he had had a couple of hard runs. They looked five times as sharp and onto the ball or onto us. 5x as sharp. Really here we are in La La land again. So if the ball in the first half was over the line, we would have beaten them, but that would really have upset you.

You know it’s a dire situation when people are buzzing with a point at a promoted side. Shite. 1) I don't see too many people "buzzing", I really don't. 2) Another way to spin it is "a point away at a side above us in the table". You used to be quite funny a year or three ago - what happened to you mate? You're a young lad and you're more miserable than an old git like me. It’s how watching this side has got me mate, and I hate it.

Get a life sad sack.

Not been on during the game, here's my thoughts from beer-addled memories:
Tactics didn't seem to match the personnel yet again. We had Crouch up front presumably as someone to aim at, yet we were trying to build slowly from the back. Away from home against a high press. wtf?
Ref had 2 big decisions to make, got both wrong. They should've had a pen when Allen played some bloke instead of the ball, then we should've had a pen when some bloke played Diouf instead of the ball.
Shawcross going off didn't make us look any weaker at the back.
Wimmer wasn't as shite as he will no doubt be made out to be.
Zouma's booking was laughable.
Edwards did ok.
However shit people think Fletcher is, we looked worse after he went off.
Choupo did ok.
Allen mom.
I did say "beer-addled memories" so disagree all you like.

It was no surprise that The Terriers did a cut price Klopp, Wagner is the pressers acolyte, without the attacking resources. It's what they do. And why they're where they are. Trying to play around them, pick them off, or by pass the press up to Crouch are legitimate approaches. Out-running them or being physical or cynical isn't our team, that's the reality so setting up to attempt that was futile. Give them a bit of the ball is part of springing a counter too. Can see what we were trying to do.

We have become horrible to watch.
Just the whole approach and then in-game management.
It's dross, watch-from-behind-the-sofa stuff.

Nailed on to start next game. My money is on Crouch being dropped, and ECM moving to striker. ECM at Striker is scary as in bad for me. Seems lost not being on the edge. agreed. Just seems the likely place for him based on what Hughes usually does.

Great point incredibly remains just about on target to be the only premier league manager to make a transfer profit and survive if only by a squeak. premier league manager LMA manager of the season withou a doubt if he pulls it off with this bunch Dyche making a £15m profit with Burnley and sitting 7th not as good as Hughes making a smaller profit and sitting 13th? Interesting. Lest we forget Dyche got Burnley relegated on a similar budget , he’s having a great year but Hughes has done 4 seasons as the lowest net spender

More shit from Shawcross like most weeks. Shame he’s untouchable by a lot on here. Should have been replaced last season. He's not first choice anymore imo when everyone's fit. Problem is, how do you drop your Captain?? Let’s hope he gets injured then. Oops well what will we do now then 😡

Missed the second half ( family duty) was it better than the first half which was awful.
I realise we scored but interested in how we played.
Thanks

Here is the Huddersfield fan forum thread on the match. Overall they're pretty complimentary. I thought this was an interesting quote, from user buckers. "The best thing that happened for Stoke today was shawcross getting injured and them bringing an extra midfielder on (the lad that scored) and changing formation. Our midfield looked comfortable up until then. The extra man put extra pressure on Mooy and for me that was one of his poorer games. Joe Allen played really well for them as did Crouch. Decision making when we get to the edge of the oppositions box needs to improve. 5 points from 3 games is good going. On too Burnley which is a tough one." I'd like to see a game when we're winning/drawing where we're not hanging on for grim death at end.....or should I say the last 20 minutes...... just one would be a good start

Could have conceded a penalty, could have been given a penalty, should have crossed the line... one of those Christmas type games really. Happy with a point although the defending for their goal was a true reflection of what our defending has been like all year. Cameron tackled with a leg out ( as s junior coach we always told the kids this was not how you tackle) Wimmer rushes in with no affect, Cameron tracks back and doesn’t tackle again properly, Shawcross from a standing start gets nutmeged and Butland Is massively exposed with an easy side foot.

obviously they know more about football. My man poo mate said the same, and a Huddersfield fan too. It's all relative. I went yesterday and thought we were woeful...a long way from where we were 2 seasons ago. I thought we were exactly the same v WBA. I cannot work out what Hughes' tactics are. There doesn't appear to be any clarity of purpose and it is really disjointed. Neutral viewers can be a bit more impartial. They don't watch us often and don't carry round the emotional baggage that we do.

I hate to say it but Wilson's parting shot about Hughes not practising defensive tactics in training is coming back to haunt us. The defending on their goal was farcical. Huddersfield were a yard quicker than us and with better finishing would have won comfortably. Yet another games result that papers over the cracks. Hughes' game management is crap and too many square pegs in round holes. Of course his excuse when we get twatted against Chelsea will be the injury crisis. So why is Muniesa not being recalled? Sooner Hughes goes the better. We definitely need full/wing backs, midfielder and striker who can actually score regularly. Things are so tight at the bottom we could still be in a relegation dogfight
