It could well be.
So, lets be supportive of him and not negative from the off.
He has had a good spell at Stoke up until the past 18 months or so which has seen steady decline.
But.....for the first three years or so we played some great football and beat some big boys well.
I'd personally like to see it all revive, keep Hughes at the helm and carry on. But if this is to be his last game, lets support him through it and give our best.
Cheers !!

Got tickets booked for tomorrow to see the match with my dad, first game this season for us both. I'm looking forward to it, not maybe as much as being a footballing spectacle but more a 'I bloody hope I get to see us win and get 3pts'. Got to keep the positivity at the match and behind the players and manager. It may well be as you say Hughes last game, but if it is let's make out support known and give the lads our backing. Then I can come on the oatcake and moan about him if we lose

The manner of the defeat may prove the deciding factor, another 3-0 capitulation at home may force the chairman's hands, however should we have a situation where both the chairman and the manager can deflect the result on the the officials and away from the management and the players they will grasp it with both hands and continue with their heads in the sand.

Good positivity fella. Come on you mighty potters! Do our bit. To be fair the crowd have been very supportive over the past 18 months despite the regression we have seen on the pitch, if the players give their all and show they care about the club the fans will stay behind them as always in the ground, the problems may begin if they surrender easily and give up, hopefully that will not happen tomorrow ! if they are not fired up for this one they never will be under Hughes.

Surely we can not lose by more than two clear goals against WBA, they are really struggling in front of goal I can see us conceding but not three times, I fear you may well be right about the management though they are looking to deflect at all times which may be part of the problems we have, they have to start taking ownership of their responsibilities.

Anything is possible with lack lustre Les.

It's very likely all over now, we know, but lets get behind him and show the premier league what we're all about. No negativity here please !!!

My username has nothing to do with my thoughts on the current plight of the club. If you trawl back through my posts you'll see I was very much on the fence, leaning towards giving Les more time up until the palace game despite the obvious 18 months regression. I now firmly believe we are sliding towards the Championship, apart from castle and swansea (so far) the club's around us seem to have changed things for the better.

Whatever the case whether it be this weekend or a game or two later, he's nailed on with the bookies at 3/11 with Paddy Power for the next manager to be sacked. Only a resounding victory (remember them?) will save him.

I'll settle for getting in plenty of paper and keep covering them cracks for now if it means getting some wins. That could be incredibly damaging in the long term, take Sunderland as an example they have problems at there club even when they were in the premier league they would paper over the cracks season in, season out just merely surviving by changing the manager every season i fear we are heading in that direction if we dont address the problems asap! And for me something doesnt seem quite right at stoke not just with the manager but in the boardroom too!

We beat a big boy as recent as August, and drew with another, and I don't buy the theory, and that's all that it is, that "the past 18 months have been steady decline".
The last few weeks haven't been good but you don't sack a manager that you otherwise think is good for the club, because of a few bad weeks. Well lots of other chairmen do but Coates doesn't and he has stated so emphatically.
Anyone who thinks differently can only express wishful thinking and on this site the majority does but that doesn't mean anything other than that.
