www.thestar.co.uk/sportheadlines/Wait-and-see-on-Nyatanga.4103773.jpEven though the bit about him being out of contract is obviously bollocks Barnsley Star
Former Barnsley academy graduate Jon Parkin could be on his way to League One play-off finalists Leeds United.
Premier League newcomers Stoke are expected to release the 26-year-old striker, who is out of contract this summer.
Leeds are reported to be tracking the 6ft 4in striker who was given a free transfer by Barnsley at the start of his career.

First Sweeney and now Parkin - we just can't turn down an offer from mighty Leeds can we?

I think they need to look at their source of information though- out of contract this summer? I wish! Go on Big Man!

Surely if they want him we can oil the wheels a litttle and pay a bit of his final year up? We're rich now.

Sadly, he's got 2 years left, hasn't he?
And I bet he's on a decent contract?

Has he? Christ! I doubt there's any substance in it then.

well we only signed him proper last summer, so you'd have to guess 2 years to go. Still if they go up they could probably afford his wage, I don't imagine he's on a MASSIVE amount at stoke, i would like to think that around the negotiating table they prodded his tyre every time he asked for too much.

He took his opportunity, did all that was expected of him at the time and we can't ask for more than that. Nice guy. Good luck to him.

To be fair i dont think pulis got it wrong at all lets face it how many of you said sign him up after his cracking loan spell where he played up top with fuller and the pair of them had a good scoring run?
It was a good decision but it just never worked out never mind
now leeds give us £750 raisin to £1.2 million depending on appearances and you can take him off us

I wouldn't think we'd be looking for more than a nominal fee?
The chances of us getting our money back must be minimal. He's got talent, but maybe he's one we'd be just looking to get off the wage bill.
Mind you, as with Matteo, he seems another one who was important to the dressing room atmosphere and camaraderie. In his interview last night, Dickinson said he was the funniest bloke he'd ever met.
He seemed to think this group had something special, and ran through brick walls for each other as they were unusually close.
Characters like Matteo and Parkin, who were pretty much flops on the pitch, may have helped create this atmosphere which led to the sum of the squad being greater than the talent of the individual parts.
So I suppose it'd be sad to see him go from that point of view, but he's never going to live up to his potential.

Nope. Saddling us with that useless fucking lump on a hefty 3 year contract is about the worst thing he's done I'd say.
I'd welcome your nominations Frazier seeing as you seem so offended!

He's worth £400,000 of anyone's money.
Get him happy and fot he'll score goals for you. He was a threat at times when he played for us, but our style of play wasn't best suited to him so he hasn't figured much.
Seriously, Kevin Kyle moved for £1.5M and Steve Howard for £1M. Are you seriously saying Parking isn't worth £400K? I think given the right circumstances he'd do well. he was just destined to to do well here.

What about Perrywinkle
At least Jons scored goals and given more time on the pitch would have come good IMO

He was on a free and we have far more chance of getting shot to some mugs than Parkin in my view.

Come on lads we've been bloody promoted. He is not, never has been and never will be good enough for the top flight in this country and that's why a three year deal was crazy for a guy with his 'issues'

IMO there's a few in our squad that are not quite good enough for the top flight. No need to pick out one.
