Would you back us to get 3 points? At the moment I wouldn't, and I mean against anybody! I know it's an unlikely scenario, but fucking hell that's scary. What the fuck has happened to our defense?

Been a while hasn't it, don't tell me it was Sunderland away last season when, uh-hum...Arnie scored twice?

Not even against 10 men, like Leicester at home last season.

We have thrown away lots of 2-0 leads in the premier.
The won v wolves really pissed me off

I can't prove this ...it's pure speculation
But I swear when we went 1 nil up v palace with shaqs wonder goal ...Hughes thought ...we can get a point here !!
That's his mentality to me
To me his aura is negative

The problem is as soon as we take the lead we try and defend for the rest of the game but we aren’t capable of keeping a clean sheet. Rather than trying to scrape a 1-0 we should keep attacking but that takes some balls and Hughes doesn’t have them anymore.

If we score now, it will be either a Shaqiri 40 yarder, a Shawcross header or bundled in by Diouf? Can't even depend on Crouch now he's starting?

Totally hypothetical thread as the opposition always score first.

I wasn't confident we'd win the FA Cup semi until we hit the 4th. I distinctly remember turning to my dad after the 3rd saying 'we've scored these too early'

Plenty of times in the past where we have messed up a 2-0 a few times vs Leicester, once vs allardyces west ham, wolves under TP, swansea a few seasons back too and the way we are at the moment we concede on average 3 goals a game so no i wouldn't back us to not fuck it up

When we were 5-0 up at HT v l’pool i was thinking if they got an early goal they could get back in it. Ever the optimist

If we were 6 - 0 up with ten mins to go, I'd still be shitting myself the way we defend. Mark would probably take Jack off and put Saido in goal.

Against Albion I would yes. Equally if they go two up can't see us getting back to parity.
First goal wins I reckon, other side to crumble.

It's 30 games since we took a 2-0 lead in a Premier League match.

There is a school of thought that 2-0 is a more difficult lead to defend than 1-0. I suppose it must be that a team trying to fight back from 2-0 are gonna throw everything at you, whereas at 1-0 they still will hold their shape.

For us maybe, not for the opposition Strangely, and worringly, each time the opposition has got to a 2-goal lead against us this season they have gone on to win by 3 or more goals (5times). Just shows the lack of fight in the squad at the moment, 2-0? game over it seems

I wasn't confident we'd win the FA Cup semi until we hit the 4th. I distinctly remember turning to my dad after the 3rd saying 'we've scored these too early' That was a point in case of continuing to batter them even though we were 3-0 up. As stated earlier we always sit back on 1-0 and 2-0 leads inviting the opposition onto us. If we were good at defending or quick on breakaways then I could understand but we are neither. West Ham showed us how to do it on Saturday after their fortunate first goal.

On the rare occasion that we actually scored 2 goals!....
No, because we'd concede almost straight away and Hughes would sit us back....2-2 then happens.
