Funny how when it's Pulis we have "Regardless of his record at another club"....but when it Hughes you completely use his record at another club as one of the reasons why he isn't good enough. What about "Regardless of his record at another cub" for Hughes eh? Noooo...when it comes to that you just make up "Facts" that he was relegated with QPR instead and pretend that proves he isn't up to the job. AS i mentioned yesterday, are you willing to accept therefore by that same logic, that if WBA go down then it's Pulis that got them relegated? The terms "Floundering" and "All over the place" don't even come close when it comes to you on this thread. Hughes had already relegated QPR, maybe not mathematically but they were long gone. West brom are in more of a position to stay up then QPR were, again I'm not basing it mathematically, I'm talking what Hughes did to QPR. He sunk them quicker than the titanic. So Hughes hadn't won a game with QPR for 13 in all competitions......WBA haven't won for 16 in all competitions. You pointed out the other day that WBA "are just shit", but for some reason completely dismiss any of the responsibility of that shitness from the man who's been there for 2 year with HIS players setting up the way he wants HIS players to play.....whereas Hughes was to blame directly for QPR going down because even though he wasn't there, they were HIS players and his setup? You can see where you argument is tied up in complete hypocrisy and double standards can't you? Again, do you accept that by YOUR logic if WBA go down it's Pulis that relegated them?

You obviously don't have a clue about Pulis or much of what he's done elsewhere (didn't realise he'd been in court for blackmailing a former chariman, didn't realise he'd been found guilty of Deceiving a tribunal when he scammed ANOTHER chairman and didn't know his current record is even worse than the man we ALL want gone) and clearly nothing about my feelings about Pulis. I was always a big fan of Pulis and extremely grateful for what he did..in fact i was one of the few who actually openly said on here how sad i was when he finally went (check my posting history, i was a fully paid up rimmer when he was here you utter tool!). However, that doesn't mean i want someone back purely on the strength of blind faith and love for him whilst ignoring facts, logic and common sense that is staring you in the face! You don't employ a man to get you out of a relegation battle simply on the basis of fucking gratitude! I'll put it simply for you: 1) You said Hughes took QPR down as it was his team and setup.....ergo, if WBA go down this season then it's Pulis' fault (by YOUR logic, a point you've continually ignored when put to you) 2) You say it's guaranteed he'll keep us up because he's never been relegated...neither has Hughes (whatever bullshit you try to spin. See point 1) or shitloads of other managers so he's hardly a unique specimen 3) You want to replace Hughes because of his awful record...by bringing in someone with an even worse one. "Hughes is doing shit, what's the solution? Bring in someone doing even worse and in fact sooo badly he's already been sacked by someone else!" Genius mate! 4) You seem to think he's the right man to get the players playing with passion and pride again to help us out of this hole....1 of those players he publicly insulted and froze out at WBA, another he undervalued which is why he wanted to leave and ended up here, and another one (our own Club captain) he has insulted and called a loser since leaving Stoke. So you think he'll gee them up when he's already fallen out with half of them before he even starts? You're off your fucking rocker you dimwit

It doesn't matter how you dress it up, he got no wins in 16 at West Brom, he had destroyed any element of skill in the WBA team and the so called survival expert looked like he was going to take that team down, and they still might if Pardew can't sort them out. It's not about liking the person, it's all about their managerial ability, and at West Brom he quite clearly showed he ran out of ideas, a bit like Hughes. He was sacked from here because we wanted more expansive and free flowing football, and you want to bring him back? With the players we have route one isn't going to work for God sake.

He was sacked for spunking a fortune up the wall and because his methods had stopped working.

We are just a total mess from top to bottom. I want to replace Hughes because hes clueless, no fight, no passion, no commitment. He doesn't even look like he cares. he'd rather ague with arnie on the sidelines than actually manage his own football team who are in the shit. I have never once said hes guaranteed to keep us - find me the post where i have said this. I just said hes the most likely from the ones that are left. He's managing another club, of course he's going to pull all of his old time wasting tricks out etc, that's what he does. That's what we need right now. There's only one tony pulis. Legend at stoke city, always will be. I hope this answers all your questions millsy.

This is like being married to wife A for a few years, getting divorced, then marrying wife B... splitting up with wife B and then thinking the only possible option is to go back to wife A because she once gave you good head, forgetting all the shit that she gave you during the latter years and the fact that she's been a rancid horror bag since.

I think a poor response to early bird s/t played a part. Which correlates to some extent to 'style of play'. Think the focus on the Academy and Carto & co had a major bearing on the decision. And all the pig head in the dressing room, cars getting trashed, dressing room stuff. Think a lot of that was about 'Style of play' and as you say 'methods' too.

How do you know Hughes has no fight, passion or commitment? He may have fallen out of love with the profession of football management for all I know, but also equally as likely he's kicking bins over and screaming blue murder at Cartwright, Berahino, Wimmer and whoever else. Just because his touchline default setting isn't acting like some theatrical fanny is not evidence that doesn't care or has no passion.

I'm not arsed about what Hughes is like on the touchline, I often think managers who act all 'Conte' are doing it for show as the players won't be taking any notice of them unless the ball is out of play. It's the fact he seems to have lost the plot with team selection, formation and transfers which is the real concern.

I asked if you'd accept that Pulis was to blame if they go down 2) So you're basing it purely on "He might be ok". Having a bad stint doesn't mean he won't save another club (but let's remember, it's not just a "Bad stint", he's presided over their longest winless run in their history!)...however it most certainly makes him far from "The only safe option" that you claimed him to be! 3) Based on what? Us finishing higher under Hughes than Pulis, or Hughes (despite being shit) having us above Pulis' side before Pulis was sacked? 4) Again not what i asked...i wasn't asking about Hughes' passion. You just decided to answer a question i didn't ask instead

Generally I go home and early Cups, the rest is TV beam, streams, radio. Go on a pub bus. At that time the Britannia was a fortress, unbeaten there in 12 months. There was a buzz on the bus knowing it wouldn't be particularly pretty, there'd be a battle to hold on to that enviable record. Mixed feelings about Europe, but many around me had turned Valencia into an adventure and there was plenty of feelgood of that lingering. For me TP tried to start using the midfield, it'd never really been integral to the winger/long throw game plan. N'ZonZi and Adam.. we had discussions at the time. I didn't think it was all gloom, {like now}, I wasn't aware of the extent of the discontent in the player camp {until I saw Ryan twatting it up the pitch second half vs Wigan} After the Liverpool game, Wilson broken leg, N'Zonz broken nose, Huth held together by sugar, Crouch smashed mouth, Wilko out?, Adam out of sorts. etc. The squad was a bit crap, no real depth and players like Ethers, and Walters and Whelan, ran into the ground. Footballing terms to maintain/sustain 8th was needed. Butland and Shea. If that had been the path, and as you suggest we were 8th in the table at the opening of the early bird, they wouldn't have dropped off in the manner they did. As it transpired it seems to have turned into a political/unpleasant shitshow, and the crowd were turning their back. To be honest there's a noticeably new element in the 'crowd' in my matchday experience. Mums and dads, granddads accompanying soccer 7/ football mad kids to the game. Plenty of one off games become s/t. Several new adult attenders this season on the bus, , with kids in kits. Always an element of that, dads taking kids obviously, but it does seem the Club are making big strides in this regard. Be interesting to see if this is sustainable in the early bird.

Have to say I don't know anybody who gave a shiny shit about the home record either on the way to the ground, at the ground or on here, because we'd been poor for a long time regardless. The squad was a bit crap because he'd made it a bit crap. I don't think he especially did try and use the midfield. He just stuck Charlie in the Mama role and sacrificed a winger to do it. He had to go and he only had himself to blame, just like the current chap.

Then yes Hughes & co's time is up. If not, then a change now would seem to be a stop gap/rush job. A proper 'papering over of cracks'. I fear. I'm over TP.

Kemp does certainly seems to be watching us a lot recently. Particularly when he's supposedly retired. Could he be analyzing the squad and seeing our strengths and weaknesses in case of a TP return?? Calling it now, if TP comes back kempy comes out of retirement, wouldn't suprise me one bit Wouldn't surprise me either. Nothing surprises me in football.
