This is a bit of a rant ... Most games this season especially have an air of a practice game, by that I mean no tackles going in and no passion. The saints game in particular, even though we won, was one of the worst this season for letting the opposition stroll around. We need to be more aggressive all over the pitch, every team coming here at the moment thinks they can win because we are too soft. Our defence throws the towel too easily. This. The modern game seems to be full of players wanting to be friendly to the opposition, giving them too much time and respect, having a laugh and a joke, helping them up, swapping shirts...... Maybe I'm old school, but f**k that. I want to see players committed, putting tackles in, pressing the ball and not giving opponents an easy ride. We've become a soft touch. We've lost that identity and character that defined us and we've blended in with the norm now. Lots of players looking like they don't give a toss about the shirt or what it means to represent the club and be lucky enough to play in the Premier League. Players using it as a stepping stone, knowing they can move on or are financially comfortable for it seemingly not to matter. Say what you want about the players we've got rid of like your Walters and Whelans but at least you know they're giving everything out on the pitch. I know we need to move on from those, but you need a solid core of players who you know would run through a wall for the side. I can't say the same about many out there right though. Its like watching a reserve game with no intensity or passion. The games changed for the worse IMO, its more about style over substance.

Arnie was given an easy ride on Saturday because that's what we do nowadays. Our " game management " is shocking, from allowing opposing players to dominate the game without a serious challenge being made, to conceding at crucial times ( after scoring, just before half time, just after half time and just before the final whistle ). Liverpool beat us easily but even then they didn't allow us to push forward and gain any momentum. They committed cynical pull backs and obstructions and received numerous yellow cards. But, they never let us get any foothold in the game. Hughes had a nasty streak in him as a player, its probably required to be a top level sportsman. So how he presides over his team that doesn't get "stuck in" is beyond me. Simply we have to compete physically all over the pitch and then you can allow your skills to come in to play. We are not fit enough, not mentally strong enough and look like a schoolboy team. I heard James Collins interviewed after the game and he said that the new manager had got them working harder and they were now fitter. That's exactly what we need if we are to survive this season.

I am not in the wanting Pulis back camp but if Arnie had left his team under the circumstances he did , there would have been a plan to put him off his game carefully thought through and we just dont seem to think like that anymore

...cause a prudent Stoke Fan should know, that Arni has been very happy at Stoke and he loved the people - he is also just a guy with emotions. If so many people would hate me and give me that abuse, cause i simply joined a new club, i would react like that too.... many of you as well. Stoke City boosted his career, no doubt, but Arni gave everything back to the club, he could....and that was quiet a lot. In Austria we have been very happy with his time at Stoke City (apart from the last year), and we loved to discuss his performance there every week, but absolute NOBODY of us can understand that immense abuse and hatred towards Marko. He did do well for us , but he is a difficult character at times . Also when he left he made comments that he didnt need to that upset the fans and that is why he got so much stick . The club means a lot in a working class City like Stoke . If he had just said he felt it was time to move on or wanted to live in London it would have been better , many players have left and come back to a good reception , but publicly saying the club had no ambition will always provoke that reaction from fans , even if its the truth its not a truth fans want to hear . You really think, that would have changed anything, me not? I don´t get why people think, it is so wicked, that Arni meant, West Ham has more ambition than Stoke?? This is the truth (as you said) in financial matters. Disregarding of the turbulent recent years, West Ham had, they have composed a decent team this season. It took a while but now you can see the quality of some players. Especially Lanzini is a perfect partner for Marko - he missed such a central midfield player at Stoke - Bojan only shined a few times. Arni loves to play this one-touch football and Lanzini too. Regrettable that they did it very well aganinst Stoke, as well as against Chelsea one week before. Many of you think, that Arni has left only because of the money - that´shit. He also searched for a better squad, better midfield players and strikers around him, the former manager (Bilic) did everything to get him and Arni has realized, that Stoke with Mark Hughes as manager is completely doomed, which i have already thought since Summer 2016.

I have to agree with this. Pulis has repeatedly targeted our players. He knows the score. There was no plan in place for Arnie. He's taken the piss and our club allowed him too.

I remember West Ham doing the same to Etherington on his first game against them.

So basically its Hughes problem. No anti Arnie plan, unforgivable, but unlikely. The defence was just appalling as it was for goal 3, at which point I got up and left in disgust.

I have no issues with how Arnie spoke about the club or the fact that he give it the 'Irons' to the crowd. Ambition - seen much of that lately? He told it as he saw it, Hughes and the hierarchy got put in their place, he lined his pockets with his London transfer and gave us a right royal fucking which endeared him to the fans of his new club. I suppose if Berahino gives it large to the Baggies fans on Saturday we will all be embarrassed? I hope he gets a hat trick, pulls his cock out and starts windmilling to the South Stand. A 3-0 win and a two game ban will endear him to me No-one in our team can match up to Arnie's strength which is why our hard man Captain gave it the verbals as he went off. If he'd have turned around on him he would have shit his self.

Nothing to do with Arnautovic, our players are giving every opposition player an easy ride this season. Much as they did last season but even more so.

because most of them are still his mates When I play against mates I tend to go in to challenges twice as hard.
