Dermot Gallagher said it was a dive and contact initiated by lanzini, but has no idea if the fa will do anything about it after recent reviews. The FA are just a fookin bumbling mess. Yet Chris Kamara and the Huddersfield Manager say it was a penalty. In their eyes initiating contact is perfectly acceptable and deliberately changing your line of travel to catch any defender who is on the floor is presumably to be encouraged. I hate this 'entitled to go down' nonsense. When you have ex-pros and managers who either don't know or don't care then you will struggle to stamp this cancer out.

It would be like the police refusing to investigate a burglary because you didn't lock your door. "It's your own fault as you gave them a chance to rob you."

Its simple to sort this disease out.. video tech like rugby. Especially when its a decision in the area, fourth official tells the ref what he sees and then they make a decision, replay it and show it on the big screen so the crowd can see too, if a player dived then auto red card for him so the offending team is punished straight away rather than later which gives no advantage to the other side.
How long before they start staying on their feet then? rather than leaving a leg in or falling over after a brush of an opposing player. Christ it really does make my blood boil. It is a contact sport played by men apparently, except there are way too many cheats.

We could do with Malcolm Clarke joining the discussion. Doesn’t he sit on these retrospective action panels?

Video Assistance can't come soon enough IMHO - they have it in Europe why not here.

I'm sorry I just want to punch the little shit in the gob when he spouts that "entitled " crap. Makes me glad I'm old and won't have to watch what comes next. I remember when we used to watch the World Cup and swear at the telly with all the cheating foreigners and our pundits used to slate them. Now they have all signed up to make the game a non contact fairy sport. Good grief Kamara you used to smash into players and now you're helping to destroy it. Judas is what you are.

I totally agree with your sentiment but think red card for diving just wouldn't work because refs wouldn't give it. In fact I think there would be more diving because players would know they are not going to get red carded. How often do you see a diving situation when the referee doesn't penalise the tackler, but neither does he give a yellow to the diver? The other thing that makes my blood boil is when a player with the ball, pushes it past a defender and then runs straight into the defender to get a free kick. The refs "buy" that trick almost every time. I accept sometimes the defender move sideways to stop the attacker, but very often they don't and stay in the same position but get penalised.
