... Are complete d!€&$ on the road. I was driving down a rat run with cars parked on either side & some MAMIL came racing toward me at speed on his £3k bike, with no obvious intent of giving way. I pulled into a space & let him pass, cause I'm not churlish & he didn't give any sign of gratitude. The reason they're so self righteous is because they perceive themselves as being superior as they're stoically exercising & smugly see themselves as better.

Not always. I think a basic lack of manners is endemic in modern society. I don't think a persons mode of transport has a bearing.

So I go out on my bike today as the Shropshire snow has mostly melted. I’m only out for an hour. I negotiate wet roads. I pull in for a lorry who beeps thanks nearly get taken out by a close passing van Then come off on a bit of ice as I’m pulling into my drive. Winter cycling is tough

Correct Pedro. Endemic it is! The old adage, ignorance is bliss, comes to mind.

I find the local taxi's are driven by dead heads who dont even appear to know how to use a road properly.

I wonder how we got to the situation whereby, cyclists think they can turn left alongside a lorry going the same way, and then become the victim if a collision occurs. Whatever happened to common sense? When I was taking motorcycle lessons many years ago, the best practice was to hold back from lorries as they performed their turning manoeuvres. I cycle regularly and I cannot believe people put their own lives at risk for a sense of entitlement.

I drive a BMW and yes I realise that is the same as coming out on this board =)
Cycle riders are just plain stupid is the truth of it. They think that because they are morally in the right that somehow they won't get hurt when the inevitable happens. Like the guy on the A34 the other morning who despite the snowy, misty conditions insisted on taking up the whole of lane one all done up in his fancy kit on his fancy bike. NO BLOODY LIGHTS ON YOU NUTTER.
In 1975 I was hit then run over by a bloke in a Cortina mk4 estate he broke my tibia and my fibula broke came through the back of my leg leaving a two inch wide hole and displacing my muscle for the rest of my life. My right leg is now shorter than my left with a displaced muscle it has caused pain all my life and destroyed any career in sports or in the RAF as a pilot which were my genuine ambitions.
If I had the power cyclists and motorists would NEVER share a road, they simply do not belong together.
As a cyclist you simply must expect EVERY motorist to be aiming for you. If you don't then you will come off worst that I can tell you.
Who is right and who is wrong won't make any difference when you are lying in a pool of your own blood like I was. The car driver didn't see me he was smoking a cigar , he got 5 points and a thousand pound fine , I got a life sentence.
